Best use for Brilliant Diamond?

I got a BD from a lockbox a while back and have been sitting on it for a while. Getting 500k from it with the 2xRP right now is pretty huge. While I am not quite to lvl 70, I have stockpiled a few of the items (artifacts mostly) that I intend to take all the way to max rank.

What is the most efficient usage of a Brilliant Diamond? One of my artifacts is currently lvl 58. Once I up it to epic quality, would the BD get it all the way to Legendary quality? I don't really know if the refining point scale is the same for every piece of equipment and if I should save the BD for the next event as I will have better gear then.

The artifact in question is my Helm of Bruegnar which I intend as my main artifact for my GF. Any help is appreciated.

    Right now.... honestly, best use would probably be to sell it, then wait for price to go down after Double RP is over, buy another one cheaper, and use that with next double RP. Let me do some math, and I'll see how close it would get it to Legendary.... http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Artifact has info.


    A freshly epic artifact (rank 60) will get to about rank 75 if you put a brilliant diamond into it during double RP. So it won't get it close to legendary.

    Sell it, you can purchase more RP with the profit than just using it

    with the amount of money you can make from it now you could probably buy more rank 7 runestones with a higher RP value in aggregate later on down the road. Gems are nice but not the best way to level up equipment

    Yup, refinement for artifact equipment are much more expensive. Without being at the game right now for an exact count....selling that diamond and buying 7s and 8s at 6rp per diamond (might be shown to 5rp per diamond now that boxes aren't being opened as much) will net you 3,000,000 refinement for your artifact

    nortonl is absolutely correct. Get a feeder artifact (of the same type) leveled to rank 99 during double RP and refine it into your artifact. Nearly double the refinement point results of using regular refinement points during 2XRP. I took 2 artifacts from legendary to mythic this way just now.

    This does NOT work the same for artifact equipment.
