(terrible english)

hi all. so i started a scourge warlock and i wanted a good tank companion so i bought the young yeti. but now i really need your help guys about how should i gear it up. so i want it to make as much threat as possible so i tought i'll probably equip loyal defender gears but then i realize if i'm use bonding stones at the same time it will give me the +threat too... or am i wrong about this? so here is my problem is anyone else tested the yeti cause i'm not level 70 yet and i'll use this yeti mainly for orcus but i don't want to make threat to myself too. or i just should equip loyal avangers cause it will make enough threat? i'm level 60 currently my yeti is level 30 (upgraded) but most of time it takes about 10 seconds for the mobs to attack my yeti instead of me and i think it cause it isn't have enough threat :/ or maybe i shouldn't equip bondings and keep loyal defender gears... help me.

edit: and i know there is always a tank in castle never but sometimes a good tank die too cause orcus' huge damage so i need (!) this companion :) ah, or let me know if there is a better tank companion than yeti cause at the moment i think yeti is the best for tanking but let me know if i'm wrong.

damn that's nice. yeah i bought the bell i just didn't want to buy gears until i don't know how is this exactly work cause i've never used tank companion for my paladin :D but then i'll equip defender gears + bondings. thank you.

edit: ammm yeah some warlocks from my guild already said that warlock have freaking big threat that is why i want my yeti to make as much threat as he just can :) i hope it'll work +30% threat from defender gears have to be enough. yes i'm planning to upgrade it to maximum level but currently i don't have enough ad for it :D

You could buy an owl too, reduces your threat by 25% I think.
No idea what my toon is now.

tbh i would go for master/avenger on a dps char with bondings if you have ad for them and are doing content allrite
Please fix Zhentarim Warlock companion's skill "Arcane Warping" to the originally intended "Arcane Boost"

Pure -> Transcendent Plague Fire weapon enchantment giving 80damge/20 seconds for 500k+ AD is a joke.

Another possibility is to get a Black Ice Prospector which gives +25% threat to your summoned companion and gives you +5% resistance to AoE attacks. It is Epic as standard and can be found on the AH for around 120-130k AD which is a bit cheaper than an Owl for 1.3 Million AD. I have given one to my SW along with a Cockatrice. It's surprising how useful it can be to have an enemy rooted for 6 seconds when you are as squishy as an SW :)

sorry for offtopic : they fixed the root of cockatrice? it was not procing on mobs before afaik.

The Young Yeti is a great defender companion, especially for lower IL characters. It's main attack, Claw, generates threat, as does Fearsome Howl, which is AoE. It's active bonus gives a nice damage buff and it has 3 offensive slots, which is good for dps classes. I don't use it much anymore but when I did I used Loyal Defender gear for the extra threat. I love seeing it in action against the two scorpions in Lostmauth's.

thanks everyone for the ideas. and yes @wildfirede i probably going to change for avenger geard because i tried with defender gears but nothing. i mean i still have to run run run run happily run away cause this yeti can't even tank anything. glad i'm a damnation so when i have puppet that can tank for me but this yeti... holy moly totally useless. i'm 65 at the moment can't wait to try it on orcus i hope it will work on that boss that is the only reason i bought this companion.

@jonkoca thank you mate i will buy that once i have enough ad it will be awesome i need less threat!

@qexotic yes i tought about cockatrice too but i would go for more dps companion and/or companions what makes my threat less. but maybe why not. thank you

One more thing - if you are still leveling up and your gameplay will change after level 70 don't overinvest in companions - if you find a few friends to group with maybe the 1.2mil for owl or the 100k for prospector are not needed at all.

it may be that a set of elementals and a goat augment do the trick for you.

At doing boons e.g when i hit 70 i sticked to a healer then got a augment for my dungeons till i leveled my gear
after i could afford some nice bondings and a fast procing pet.

Also very important - do not equip the companions if you decide to buy them

buy - copy character to test server - test there

else it may be that you wasted your AD for something you do not like.

Just a few passing thoughts to throw into the mix. I have been using my SW since March. My first two characters were an HR and a CW, so I wanted something a bit different. For no particular reason, I picked up and used a Wayward Wizard as her first summoned companion. He is one of the ones you can buy when you first get the option of having a companion. I was still using him after I got past Level 60 even though he was low on dps, offered no healing and had a fairly useless active bonus (+25 Recovery is neither use nor ornament for most characters). However, he did have a remarkable knack of attracting attackers. His threat must have been huge for some strange reason as I quite often found the bad guys running straight past me and heading for him. If anyone can explain why, I'd love to know but regardless he was one of the best Gold purchases I have ever made in this game :)

The Cleric Disciple (which was removed from the game) was the same in that it instantly drew aggro. My guess is that they took it away because of this as they couldn't fix it.

Wayward Wizard's basic 1s attack is AoE, and so is his Slow ability. He's actually one of the best companions for DPS classes.

Ps about that goat. He's much cooler than the ugly cat that follows me around

I was assuming it got removed because it healed better then blue/purple pets from the cash shop.
