It is interesting to see how much less activity this section of the forum gets when compared to other class areas. Are TR players secretive and mostly keep to themselves or are there so much less TR players than other classes? Just an observation.

I always had the impression that TR is the most played class but you are right, Thieves Den is a ghost city except all thieves are busy grinding
We should at least try to show-off the gear looks in Show us your Rogues topic, also top5 companions combo is always for discussion...

TR is mostly used as a PvP class and PvP is about competing with each other, sharing your knowledge would basically mean you are making yourself more vulnerable and create more competition for yourself. It's a problematic behaviour because the more competition there is, the more alive the PvP scene would be. In NWO, top pvp players are really secretive about what they are doing, mostly because it often involves some kind of an exploit or people's egos are just too big to share anything. PvP is just like that, an ego war.

I think most rogues are willing to share their builds and help each other out, at least in PVE. And, there aren't a lot of recent posts discussing new builds, probably because people have either decided to keep the same builds in a post lostmauth set world, or, like me are still testing things out. But, if someone posts a question in here about a build, they usually get the information they need. I can't speak for anyone else, but the more good TRs there are, the better it is for everyone. I recently had someone turn me down for an edemo run because they wanted "high DPS" and didn't think a TR was capable of that.

I am a MI Scoundrel and enjoy PVP... that said I don't rack up massive amounts of kills but it is hard to get me off of a node. I am thinking of posting my build, not because I think it is great(it isn't), but because it would be something to discuss, receive laughter from and even enjoy some criticism. I didn't go sab or exec because that is what there are tons of already.. but before anyone gets defensive about that comment, I realize the reasons why people go those paths.. I just wanted to be different. It is interesting in PVP when going toe-to-toe for a long time with a GF, GWF or TR, they message me and ask if I am a scoundrel.. while I am not completely sure why they ask it, I pretend it is a good thing (don't burst my bubble and allow me to feel good about this please ...lol). I also want to point out that this section of the forum has some loyal and well educated contributors and I am most grateful for their contribution. Lemonchill was the one who turned me on to my T. Lightning and while I am still undecided about it in PVP (it does expose things that lurk hidden around node.. kinda handy) it is wonderful for trash groups in PVE. Thanks all for contributing to this thread thus far.

    "because tr sucks in pve"

How on earth do you qualify a statement like that? Firstly, TRs have some of the best DPS in PVE. I'm not BIS (yet), don't have the big guild boons, and my DPS is competitive with most of the high gear scored players out there, even gwfs. Also, there are a several viable builds that are effective in PVE besides your build and, unlike most other classes, all the feat trees are viable. Plus, and here is the big one, they are a lot of fun to play! That is, after all, why we play this game, right?

One thing should be mentioned about pve and that is the design of dungeons. Some dungeons fit better to some classes, for example CN fits good to SW, i doubt any1 can beat SW in CN, not even GWF. When it comes to TR from what i noticed best fit is EDEMO. So if you have low dps in CN doesnt mean you are bad its just that design fits better to other class.
I am currently 3.1k IL and i am pretty competitive in dps with others around same IL. I dont use best build nor do i use best rotations, also i use ITC instead Lashing, and also i dont change encounters for trash fights and boss fights, i always use same encounters and still do pretty ok dps wise. I have a really good dps in EDEMO and i had one run with Thorina(some say best TR) and he did like 4x or 5x my damage, i doubt any1 could beat him in EDEMO. Also ran ESOT with a 3k IL TR and he did 2x my dmg. Thats my personal experience and i think TR's are quite capable of high dps if used right. If i used my char in best possible way i believe i could pull out at least 30% more dps.
