Is it me or ?

I cannot help but notice lately that when doing any of the "Closed Maps" quest for Battlehammer ( Piriate Skyhold, Natures' Help in Mt. Hothenow or however it is spelled ) the trash mobs hit for an insane amount of damage. My CW has 3+K defense, 1200 Deflect PLUS a ring that gives 115 Deflect that stacks no less then 10 times, 93K HP and I die repeatedly in those maps, and NOT at the end boss, but when I confront the small trash mobs, just a few hits and I am near death and running for my life. Is there something wrong with my CW or is the trash mobs to strong? Just curious.

    You probably need to stack more lifesteal. My CW had no issues with 10% DR, 0% deflect, and 20% lifesteal. (I only recently pumped this up from 10%, and was having no issues then either.)

    I would have to check the actual stats on my CW, but I haven't had any serious issues except with bosses in the Maze Engine tasks. And the bosses I mean are the giants, etc. Not the dual Nalfeshnees.
    I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

    It may not just be you.. my partner's CW appears to be suddenly wearing toilet paper for armor...

    I know this sounds crazy but from time to time and seems completely random I find I'll have much harder times on a map then I did the day before and or even the next day. I remember once going to IWD to do quests that I take every time and this one day, suddenly I found myself having to run and heal way more then I've ever had to before. But then the next day everything was normal again.

    It's happened to me on both my TR and my GWF at random times and on random maps. I played my GWF right after I finished those quest with my TR and had no problems. And I've had the same random problem in WoD with my GWF, almost died every time, go to do those same quests with my TR and no problems.

    I cant explain it.

    Yeah I've noticed this on several different characters/classes. When it happens to me, it pretty much affects any maps I play on that character that day. The next day everything is back to "normal" again. This has been going on for the last couple of months at least. I haven't tried switching to one of my other characters/class when it is happening though so I do not know if it affects them as well.

    3k defense and 1200 deflect isn't a whole lot, unfortunately--not since the stat curves post 60 were changed way back in mod 6. And yea, that ring may add a bit more to that, but unless you're above the default 50% deflect severity, you're only deflecting half of being hit by a bus even when you are deflecting a hit. Perhaps a good (read: blue or purple, I use a battlefield medic) healing companion may help survival over an augment. Lifesteal isn't as reliable as it used to be for healing, either.

    It might also bear mentioning that I play renegade tree, so I also have Chaotic Growth (when it procs and I'm lucky enough for it to be one of the three possible buffs from Chaotic Magic) to help with healing.

    ty... all good suggestions. It is a bit frustrating when I have all orange everything and I cannot survive a simple Task from Battlehammer... lol But I did change my encounters and that seemed to help a bit... now that everything dies quicker..lol

    I have not noticed any difficulty with any of the Battlehammer quest.... I could not get near the dragon... but it seems like it was unnecessary to kill him.

    Other than they they all seem very easy to me

    But

    You mean the dragon you're supposed to outrun? Yeah....trying to kill that thing is sure suicide even for an uber geared player. You're not supposed to fight it, you're supposed to run like the devil from it.
