Companion Gear not working

sheepunsheepun Member Posts: 4 Arc User
At level 60 i decided to equip my companion with lvl 70 rare gear, which added a total of 1014 Power and Armor Pen to my companion, but when i tested it's damage, it remained the same. I tested it with and without the gear, no difference. I even unsummoned my pet before each test to make sure it was updated.

Does the gear need to be maximum my character's level to affect my companion?

No... Your level wouldn't affect the companion. The gain from the stats is just not noticable enough. I'm not sure but you probably added just 2.5% damage which ain't large enough.

FWIW, there's epic level companion only gear available on the AH. It's not terribly expensive, and each piece has two enchant slots. It'd probably be your best bet.

If you're using a common companion beyond level forty, nothing will help them much.

Uncommons are good till lvl 50 at max rank, rare till 60. Which is why I don't know what the point of them giving us an uncommon battlerager in the Maze Engine campaign really is. Sure, it's good if you only have common at that point, but any companion less than rare or epic just takes a few hits and dies past level 60. This was really a pain back when companions wouldn't rez on their own during combat.
