How to score Gold in the first phase of Mind Flayer Infiltration?

The result of the first phase of Mind Flayer Infiltration variation of Throne of the Dwarven Gods is Bronze 99% of the time to me, and I have seen Silver only one time. Are there tips for making the score better?

    It's well known to be bugged. I'm honestly impressed that you've ever seen silver.

    The best I've heard is just a rumour that the main mind flayer will point out an order to break the doors. As this is just a rumour I have my doubts that it works, but if you do confirm it, please let us know.

    Thanks. It does seem to be bugged. I had heard someone said that, too.

    My understanding is: to get gold, you need to save the dwarf in the room from being killed (not sure how many is need for gold though).
    The flayer pointed to a room so that his minions will teleport into the room and start to slaughter the dwarfs. You need to open the door fast enough so that the dwarfs can come out and you need to help to keep them not being killed on the way out before they disappear.

    So, you need to do that in right order + fast enough to open door + keep the dwarf safe. The idea is: save the dwarf as many as possible.

    The second scenario is Mind Flayer Infiltration. The illithid strike force takes control of the throne room and imprisons captured dwarves in the side tunnels. Intellect devourers in each of the tunnels begin consuming the prisoners’ brains, taking control of their bodies, and creating a small army of infiltrators Orcus can use to sabotage Gauntlgrym from within.

    The players are in a race against time to free the prisoners. The longer it takes, the more prisoners lose their minds to the intellect devourers. Once again, the players must trick the undead thoon hulks into inadvertently ramming the tunnel gates. It only takes a few impacts of their massive bodies to take down a gate.

    Simply saving enough dwarves as possible is not enough. I can personally confirm this. The thion hulks are on a timed respawn from when they die/ disappear, and I have had a coordinated guild group go and break down doors as fast as possible. We ended up with only one or two dwarves lost and still got bronze.

    I have not been able to confirm the mind flayer pointing to a room, and needing to break that door in said order. Our group chose an order before going in and broke it that way.

    Here's how you get gold on it: You leave the instance and re-queue for the bubble instance.

    lol. I have seen players doing that and I myself have recently started doing that, too. Although I sometimes feel sorry for the party I left, I really have no choice because I don't want to spend my precious time on the difficult (or problematic) variation only to see it affects my final rewards. Sigh...

    lol. But this is true though, we've tried every sort of tactic to try and get gold, it just seems bugged. Better to leave and re-queue for corruption.

    not impossible just hard you kill where he points and only in that order the problem is others direct hulks wrong place then its over

    kill what where who points? Wow didn't know there was that mechanic there.

    Absolutely nothing in your picture indicates what version of throne that was in.

    The "a mind flayer points at where you have to focus" thing is a rumor I've never seen any actual evidence for. Such as, you know, a video showing it in action and getting gold on the first stage.

    I posted so you know it can be done believe it or not is up to you I am 55 years old and not a computer whiz so getting something recorded on windows 10 is not an option for me. this is what helped me left door must be ist as you arrive then 2nd left door then ist right door and last right door problem is you never can get everyone to cooperate in every one I still see people killing hulks but if you heavy damage them tor kill one then you fail

    just search my other post you will see all my comments have been to help not take a superior attitude above others. It is a shame that others have to resort to childish behavior due to inability to complete a gold level HE

    I have no need to record my in game adventures so there for I never took the time to learn

    Thanks for the tip. I might try it again someday to check out the "pointing". It's a shame that the skirmish itself provides no detail about the correct way of doing it.

    It is ok. you dont need to make yourself look like a known it all person anymore. it has already been fix in the next incoming mod9 patch.

    For those that keep skipping it, you may want to stick around now. I think they eased up on the scoring a bit.

    Yeah, they did. It's explicitly mentioned in the patch notes for Mod 9.

    Yeah, in an ironic but very Cryptic turn of events, I now ignore PoM entirely and focus instead on throne.
