An idea for ring upgrades

Is there anything more disappointing than opening a chest in EDemo, PoM or ToDG and seeing a +4 or +5 ring that's awful for your character? The RNG gods have smiled on you but only used half their face.
What if the drop, the +4 or +5 ring, could be rerolled similar to a weapon? If there were an item in game similar to a cube of augmentation that'd allow you to reroll the stats on a ring exactly the same as if it were a twisted, drowned, etc. weapon? Make that item purchasable in the trade bar store and you've killed several birds with a single stone.
1. Trade bars have value again. Particularly if the items used to reroll the rings are bind to account.
2. The VIP program has value other than convenience.
3. The players get what they want assuming the RNG gods smile on them.
4. The effort level required to code should be minimal since something similar already exists in game for main hand and off hand epic items.
I'm sure there's something glaring that I'm overlooking but this is just an idea that came out some back and forth with another player after yet another gold EDemo run with a useless, for me, +4 ring as a reward.
It's a half baked idea but I'd be interested in others opinions on it. Good and bad. Feel free to call me a moron if you must. I've been called worse.
Edit: To be clear, I'm not suggesting that a +4 could be upgraded to a +5. My suggestion is that a Regen ring could be rerolled into a power, critical, etc. ring.
