how is control wizard better than ranger

necrogirl2necrogirl2 Member Posts: 2 Arc User
I tried ranger but I read on the forum that CW is better for DPS, how the hell is that possible, with ranger I can easily take down multiple mobs at once, with wizard i have to pick them off one at a time, how the hell is that better, I want to quickly dispatch enemy groups but all i have are these stupidly weak spells, how the hell is control wizard better?

It all depends on rotation, spec, and class feats - when the right ones are used together, you can crank out a boatload of damage. See Ironzerg's CW build or the build in my signature if you're looking for a high damage CW build.

Well, you have to understand. HR is a great class, but most of the HR players do not know how to play it and cry it is weak. I watched a video of an HR solo ECC better than a GWF. A CW with the LM set is a monster for DPS, it just takes skill, the right build, enchants, pets and gear.

I wouldn't define CW as "monster for DPS", maybe "pretty good DPS".

Then you haven't seen someone using the right build, enchants etc. they can beat all but the 'actually skilled' GWF's and SW's, rare as some of them are.

Actually, the damage breakdown is as follows:
    100 GWF
    94 SW
    71 HR
    66 CW

HR does slightly more then CW and I would really like to see these monster CW's you talk about. They can run with me and @itbls and we can see how monster they really are.

I've never seen an HR of even ilevel beat my CW. Usually I beat them all the way up to 3.7k with my 2.8 CW. Based on the forums posts of yours I've seen you sound like one of the few skilled players in the game, so I'd love to run with you. I'm afraid I have no idea who itbls is though.

Sure, im online atm, Freedom isn't online atm and im running MoF Thaum for the sake of experimentation (im kind of bored with the game atm, keeping myself entertained by testing stuff, it wastes AD, but at least I can keep playing). Whisper me in game though sharpedge@thefabricant and we can run.
