Best partner for a Devotion OP?

tallion88tallion88 Member Posts: 3 Arc User
Looking to get back into NW again and will do up a Devotion OP.

Looking for suggestions on what the best class would be for a friend to join along. we would be doing PvE 99% of time and would only play the toons while logged together.

want my friend to feel like he is contributing to the leveling up process and once we get to the PUG dungeon stage, what class would make us an easy twosome to pick for dungeons...

Thanks for any suggestions, even if it is 'dont pick HAMSTER class' comments...

Guess what, the best partner for one devotion OP is....another devotion OP. The 2nd best is a protection OP. I recommend reading over my guide though, its covered near the end what works well and what doesn't work well with a devotion OP.

I find everyone is a good partner with a devotion op. It's such a party boy.

Sounds good! Thanks for the replies... I was planning on rolling your guide too...

Edit: how will that work looking for dungeon groups? is 2 OPs in a group common?

If you a devotion and a protection OP, you will instantly get a group, both paths are highly demanded and with both together, the game will automatically fill the last 3 rolls with the 5 million dps players who have been dying to get a tank and a healer for the past 30 minutes. If you are a healer and a healer, the queue will take slightly longer because the game will then look for a tank. It will always prioritize tank first, then healer, then dps. So if you random queuing with 2 healers, it will look for a tank and then take 2 dps instead of 3. By the same logic if 4 dps are partied and they queue together, the game will fill the last roll with a tank. The wait time won't be much longer then with a tank, stretching over 1 or 2 minutes, but it will definitely not be the instantaneous, "press the button and get a group" action that you have with both healer and tank. Healer is the class demanded the most, by a huge margin, because lots of players play tank paladin, meaning that tanks are more common now then they have ever been in the past, but not many players play healer and only a select few (no more then 200 I would say) play a devotion paladin. This means that the class the queue waits on the longest is healer.

a tank to fill dungeon groups, or a sw/tr/gwf for dps and fast attacks to proc more vow and thus more BG

That and your aura of courage adds a flat damage bonus per hit. So any class with multihit attacks or rapid hits will benefit strongly from pally courage aura. :)

A 2nd dev pally would cause more bg procs then any dps class would.

I'm Devotion Paladin, I gotta say I have the most fun with a Scourge Warlock.
