Alright so i was originally an oath of protection doing decent in pvp and whate ver but really wanted to try oath of devotion so i reset and followed the build that someone else posted and was doing fine in pve but as soon as i tried to pvp i got wrecked i played like 10 more pvps and just keep getting wrecked. Im doing 60-69 pvp and my item level is 1836 at lv 63 so thats not the problem. If you can help im about to respec back to protection but i like devotion but i want to be able to stay alive just for a few minutes in pvp.......

there are a ton of twinks in 60-69 pvp, as well as the gwf's all have the destroyer capstone, tr's are close to permastealth, stunlock builds..... , so you'll switch from being the pvp god that was 10-50 to a more support oriented role. at least that was my experience.

I was thinking i'd give OOD a try since It's really effective in dungeons. my protectors got about 70% winrate in pvp currently and 3:1 kd (60-69 I have like 95% winrate and 7:1 kd though lol..) . but Im guessing i'd get less as a OOD healer.

People are way too negative, Why cant we just all get along.

Devotion doesn't become a monster until they reach their capstone. I went Light for pvp. I am mostly unkillable at only 2.4k due to it's capstone and range for keeping party members up.

Seriously, Light is UNDERESTIMATED. It's overkill in PVE, but undoubtedly helpful in pvp. Bond of Virtue can be CC'd off you so often, but the capstone will heal you or allies to full regardless.

You want to be a good pvp healer, go light, forgo offensive bonuses, focus defense/recovery. Light path makes a devotion OP so much harder to bring down. Dipping into bulwark also for the damage debuff when players attack you. By my side isn't too bad either for allowing allies to quickly chase down someone.

I know this is late, by now the OP should be lvl 70 and decently geared? Ghoulz66 is right. Devotion Paladins are absolutely beastly healers in PvP. At the risk of upsetting our Protection counterparts, I would say we are even more effective in PvP. A Protection Paladins job is to build AP. Use AP. Build AP... of course there is more to it than that but that is essencially the goal. For me there was no fun in it and teammates were still dying all around me when my bubble wore of for a couple of seconds. Even when I geared to become perma-bubble all you needed was one player with AP drain to ruin your good name. Also - and most significantly, it was still boring. So I spec'd Devotion. I don't have as much time now as I'd like to banter with the opposition in chat but I was having too much fun trolling them by keeping my whole team comfortably topped off while the the red team did all the raging. Still working on my gear (I'm 3.6k iLevel now) and learning how to counter other classes in 1vM situations, but I am finding myself clutch healing, outlasting, outplaying comps with bubble and haste and even the dreaded cheesy dblbubble. I'm not saying Protection is bad, its not. I'm just saying if played right, geared right, polite and respectful, Devotion Paladins can excel in competitive PvP. Players will definately sit up and pay attention. In random PUG's, you can literally carry a team.
