Thank the project team and the managers, devs from all of us.

It truly is the best event of the year and was looking forward to it for months. RNG was kind to me as well, as I was able to get a Gond from it and convert that to some perfect bonding stones!

Even without the gond, I still got 12 training tokens, a slew of some green pets, a cockatrice and a lillend and 2 doohickeys and throne, so now all 3 of my "main" toons have a Doohickey and a Throne

its the little things in life that can make you happy.

I know of no other game this generous in one event (though other games Ive know to be given direct store dollars) Im quite pleased with this set up though and overall, most players should as well.

Thank you, I hope most of the team had a good few days off and are refreshed to deal with us ~~malcontents~~ ummm.. happy players again

I will agree it is the best event, but... after 2 weeks it was just as bad as the grind in the SH... same stuff, different day. I gave up fter the initial run. The RP from Winter Fest is just garbage. The fact that the pets were ALL BoP... is ridiculous. I got 2 Liliend on my main... because I could not give them to my alts. I have very little need or desire to have more pets, especially epic pets, on my main.

I discarded most of the things I got from the Giftings.

I could go deeper into the rest of the issues,but I won't. Maybe it is time do some more work for next year.

I feel that the gifts you get from bags in party exchanges really should be account-bound at least. I too got some nice companions but alas they were all character-bound, which I have no use for on that toon. Would have been nice if I could have given it to one of my alts. The only other thing I disliked about the Simril event was the new artifact and all that useless RP that dropped during gift swapsies, hogging all my bag space!

I got a lot of awesome stuff during the winter festival. The people complaining about the bound stuff - only the stuff from the Starlight Bags (that drop from the gifts of Simril) was bound to character, this is to curb exploiting. Most of the stuff from the Starlight Parcels (with the exception of the retraining tokens and maybe a couple other items?) was not bound at all. I got plenty of unbound stuff to sell, and lots of awesome stuff. 3 Chicken Eggs even!

I too enjoyed the event, just like last year.

My current main did very well too... 2 battlefield medics, the dwarven scroll case (which i haven't opened), a powrie redcap, and a chicken egg!!!!

(which i did open and got a cockatrice

)

Plus a number of retrain tokens and other stuff, plus she was able to get the demon sled, the frost mimic and original fawn and an ice sprite

So all in all she did pretty good.. better than I did for Christmas

The only thing negative i have to say about the event this year was the race. There were a number of times where you slowed down and the gates and bonus parcels did not register. I think the slalom gates and the bonus parcels not registering should be looked at for next year.

But other than that... I loved it. So thanks a bunch

Next year though... Ask the Devs to add in a Snowball Fight Zone and/or Snowman 'Masks' (like the Pumpkin head from Halloween!'.

Very much enjoyed it.

It would be nice to have a better way to exchange Simril Gifts with strangers. Regardless of the true meaning of "gift", most people want to exchange the same amount for the same amount. It's a NW tradition!

+1 For the free stuff, won't complain about getting them bound because anyway it's free.
-1 for getting equipement or rank 5 enchants by opening a gift. These are the same rewards than HE and still pretty useless.
+1 For the map, a nice one done
+1 For the artifact which will help beginners

For next year:
* Make a snowball fight like some people suggested
* Correct the bug letting the people get their original level ( instead of 60 )because it's unfair, a lvl 30 can't kill a mob when a lvl 70 is just going rampage.
* Lower the drop of lumen, we got far too much of them
* Correct the bug when a demonic sledge is slower than 140%

Thanks to the team for this event, it is my favourite one and the addition last year of the Gifts of Simril improved an already decent event.

Pros:-
Free stuff
Alt friendly (this is how the Summer festival should be, but they changed that for the worst)
Competitive events
The look and feel of the Winter Festival site plus the nightsky in Protector's Enclave - great look and very atmospheric.
Artifact, nice touch and great for newer players without Sigils.

Cons:-
RNG seemed to be worse than last year - I received roughly the same number of gifts and only got 4 items others than lumen/lights. Last year I had around 20. This felt a little off but this is personal POV and other people's experiences may differ (I hate RNG by the way)
Prizes from gifts bound to character - please make this bound to account, the gifts are BtC, the prizes should be BtA - alt friendly remember?
Twilight Run bugs - I've run every single Winter Festival so far and the bugs are increasing despite being reported - why?? Slowing down, gates not registering = frustrating

All in all, I love this event and you will always find my characters hanging here in winter - now please make the Summer Festival the same alt-friendly experience! (not requiring to enter an event to make it count for the daily - makes it alt-unfriendly)

Also, Snowball fight! Mechanics similiar to Summer Fest water fight. Just have the entire area as free to throw snowballs, even on the events! Anarchy, would be hilarious. Or nuts. But keep the requirement for the daily to 3 events.

Same here, i still have a few characters with at least 30+ gift of simril on them, and there isn't much going on in PE regarding gift exchange options...
Well, i'm probably going to just share all of them after a good dungeon or skirmish run, or keep them around for the next event in line.

Wait until your party is in the middle of an intense Boss Battle and then release'm. It'll put a smile on your face, .........not thiers!

Have to agree 100% with this - the key phrase was in the name RACE - very difficult to race when ur Polar Bear is going slower than you can walk / gates don't register / u miss the big gates cos you've got off your Polar Bear to push it - it got so bad we started calling it the Slug Race & ended up only doing 1 to qualify for the daily.

However - 4 bound retraining tokens - really?? Do you think I'm going to make the mistake of re-training again after what happened at Rank 60 [it blocked all feat upgrades until you hit Level 70 - ho ho ho not funny]

I bought the new Snowy Fawn [had the original 1 so gave it away to a Guildie] & I was very pleased to get the Redcap & Lizard Shaman & the rare[?] Duergar Theurge/Thuerge [?] from Guild gift parties & an un-bound Lillend that I gave to a new Guildie that had missed the event - we had so many Gifts each that the parties could last half an hour especially as Star of Fortunes would drop so we could buy more - truly the only way to enjoy that madness - & my wife's new alt did very well getting 2 Battlefield Medics [my personal preferred medic - shame they were both bound though] a Lillend & the cockatrice from the Egg!

All in all it is very definitely THE best event of the year & I had made a point of encouraging all the Guild to maximise their attendance to boost their companion count.

Oh & just as an aside for anyone that uses the Fawns - go do Dread Legion & wait for the baddie to finish his initial rant - my Fawn always seemed to let out a B'AAAH just as he finished it - our own 2 fingers to evildoers

This season is the most successful one for me so far. What I got may not match to a few people I know but I am happy enough.
I have quite a few unbound companions, over 15 I believe. Many bound companions. I have about 20+ bound companions in one character with duplications. At the moment, I have idle companion slot "problem". Need to buy more slot to house all these new companions.

Got a Forgehammer but bound in a wrong character. Not sure if it is a blessing or curse because I gave up on Master work and now it throws me a carrot. To use it, I will need to beef up an alt.

In general, I am good.

i have few alts still got the gifts, but thier problems are not enough bag slots. i barely afford 36 slot bag once in 3 months and 3 alts need asap, otherwise, i may have to wait til next year.

If all your character (I counted 4) invoke 5 times per day, you can afford a 36 slot bag is less than 30 days. Buy it from AH.
