Simril RP items useless after epic upgrade ? :(

I just pushed my Beacon of Simril to Epic (purple), and now it won't take anymore of the lumens.
It wouldn't have ranked up on that go, but the Blinding critted, so I'm stuck with a leftover handful of each.

Since they're bound to character, not account I can't mail them, or trade them, just sell for a pittance.

Not really happy about this. It's an artifact of Simril, the Winter Festival is still going on - so why the #*$& can't we use them to upgrade, at least until Festival is over.

    This has been asked before. I recall the answer being something to the effect of "this is a feature so that they could be raised above epic quality and remain useful".

    The obvious, glaring problem with this logic seemed not to occur to them.

    So I think the real answer is "we realized the illusionist's mask were largely considered useless, especially long term, because they couldn't go beyond rank 60. But we also didn't want people grinding lumens to get a new mythic in a few days. So we imposed this restriction to give people an easy way to get a purple artifact, without making it too easy to go beyond that. We didn't bother to actually say this directly because communicating clearly and effectively with the playerbase isn't something we want to do."

    As an extra bonus, they continue to fail to realize the utter obsolescence of the regen stat since it was nerfed long ago, and thus rendered their attempt to add a new, viable end-game artifact to the game moot. Also the fact that it always drops 6 lanterns and you need to collect all 6 to get the power boost makes its on-use power pretty much useless. It takes too much time to collect them, and in a party it's too likely that someone else will pick up a lantern by coincidence. Make it drop, like, 20 of the things and then maybe we've got something to talk about.

    Not sure it will work, but I plan to get the thing to like 58.99 (as close as possible to upgrade without gettin git locked to upgrade). Then, gather as much event Rp I can possible get and dump it into it all at once (so 5 full stacks of something...hopefully the higher level stuff).

    This should get it well into the purple levels and keep the lumens useful. Not sure if it will work, but thats the plan stan. Honestly, not even sure why Im bothering, as like the above guy said, its not really useful.

    That's what I was attempting to do - until the blinding lumens went critical, and pushed it over the edge. So now I have 5 useless stacks, one of each type. 2 of those are full 99 stacks :'(

    I didn't really want it as my primary artifact, rather for the equip boost.

    Yeah, communications seems to be something severly lacking. Oh well - I suppose I can always buy more potions with the gold I can get from them :*
