Quest/Waypoint trail missing

For some reason on one of my characters my quest trail and custom waypoint trail will not show up at all ever since I had special quests pop up about the guild register it says special quest I go to it says no task to complete does anyone know how to fix this I have tried logging out doesn't help

    Did you go to a specific quest and press Y then select "Show active" or whatever it says?

    I got it fixed had to force display then I made it hidden then set it back to normal and hit draw path line and that worked so thankfully I got it fixed still cannot get the special quest arrow to go away though
