GF Enchantments

vapezuluvapezulu Member Posts: 32 Arc User
All the enchantment upgrading recently has got me thinking about wether I'm actually slotting the right enchantments for my GF.
Don't get me wrong I love my GF and it's current setup but there's always that thought in the back of the mind it could be better.
My GF is IL 2500 and can happily take pretty much all the beatings necessary for the current content.

This in my mind I started trawling throught several GF build guides to come to the conclusion that there is no general consensus on what enchants people slot.

A couple of guides suggest raidiants for the HP, others suggest Cruels which I hadn't considered and others say all out defence.

I myself for most part have silvery for defect stacked in all my def slots and this works for me tbh, but this is how I've always ran this build.

Any thoughts on this please guys? I know we have some awesome Guardians out there would love to hear what you think and what kind of numbers you are getting from your stats.

I'm away from my xbox at the moment but will post my numbers a little later when I get back.

    Im a DR Fanatic, gave up my heavy deflect build. Why?

    Like you said, your getting punched in the face just dandy. So mitigate deflect to Defense so your ITF will have all teammates hittin that much harder. Then your gettin punched in the face, and contributing to damage.

    I havent got to touch this subject in my guide ywt but its on the list and ill hive you a quick run down

    For 1 i cap out DR regularly, meaning im on taking 20% of enemies hit. So me deflecting negates another 10%.

    Now when your at a much lower DR say your new and at 35% starting combat. If you deflect its negating 32.5% damage.

    Basically, the more defense you have the less deflect matters at all. But can be amazing at low level.

    And like i said your defense is raw dmg boost to team, and great consistent survivability to plan on

    Also note, its 400 to 1 % on both stats

    So at my current gear im looking at 1% chance to mitigate 10% of base dmg, or 1% to go towards 3-4 members dps. As im already clearing dungeons with ease, im just looking to inceease dmg, boosting teamates is best way.

    From what I have read on the PC side the DR cap is 80%. How is this number being achieved? I have all R9 azures in defensive slots, with personalized gear, shirt and pants. All elven gear and with a Ioun Stone I cannot even touch this. Now when I summon My Neveremember Guard with 3x Greater bonding Runes for defense, personalized belts 2x with azures slotted and at least 3-4 companion gifts active (@150% of companion stats) I can achieve 60% DR. In doing so I am seeing tremendous damage spike from ITF for my entire group. But to hit the cap, I can only dream. Care to share :)

    Im at 52.5% dr idle

    Portal hound (purple)
    Rank 12 bondings
    3x personalised recovery, recov/defense rank 8-9

    Can cap out at 33000 defense with 5 stacks netting 102.5% DR, 75% RSI (no CD between ITFs)

    Ppl say DR cap, but what they mean is without shield, you will take 20% dmg minimum. With shield you take 4% minimum.

    Also villians menace, plus steel defense on offhand, can net upto 30% bonus DR that doesn't effect ITF but keeps me above 80% so i know i take consistent damage

    Far as gear i have mix and matched set to give most Defense and recovery. Discord and discontent gloves are only unusual piece, drops from twin beholder heroic, gives 1900 defense 50% uptime.

    All rank 8s on gear. I do wear blue 70 rings with defense and hp which is unusual too

    Also Armor Specialization does not pop up on character sheet.

    If your charactersheet says 50%

    Go 50x 1.15 and thats your actual DR

    Dunno if it effects ITF damage, too minimal to test from methods i use

    56% DR Idle unbuffed in pve gear, potions/elixirs/event food putting me higher is not buffing into the fray anymore than 67.5% damage buff for myself or others. Easy testing for me btw (0 crit rating+take off weapon enchant) Even at 50% DR I seem to be still buffing 67.5%. On a side note @rockstargfu, the talent for me affects my sheet. Take off a piece of gear that gives a lot of defence rating such as 1200 in total than look at how much you gain when you put it back on it won't be 1200

    Out of curiousity how do you @whuchaka test ITF dmg?

    Perhaps i overlooked something in armor specialization, it has been some time since i tested it specifically but will double check tonight

    @whuchaka

    Confirmed it still does not display on character sheet

    Gear-840 defense
    Gear- 865 defense while equipped

    Only 3% increase from my human race

    @Xrollxtidex

    On the plus side you have 41% x 1.15 DR

    :-D

    So the 3% Def from human race isn't a flat 3% increase? It goes towards the RI you've already achieved?

    Assuming you ment DR (not RI)

    3% human perk directly effects defense and appears on character sheet

    Armor Specialization Feat does not appear in anyway on character sheet and raises DR x 1.15 (15%). Only DR from Defense and AC which is all that shows on character sheet

    @rockstargfu, thanks man. I was thinking about dumping crushing pin for armor specialization again. These guild boons are making a decent defense rating possible. No more glass cannons and powerful ITF's.

    One more question..... With all of this extra ArP, is it viable to start stacking anything else after say 70% RI? Or is the goal 100%?

    Yes, I did mean DR not RI. GF for life!!

    I do strictly PVE, ArP on my GF floats around 40-45%

    @whuchaka

    If you have any doubts about itf boosting more than 67.5% dmg, your gonna wanna check out this lost mauth kill. Cant link but i posted in general chat for xbox "loastmauth no fly zone"

    Note my itf duration 0:18-0:27 and watch his hp during that time, i did math and my DR (that effects ITF) was at 109.5%
