Time frame when Mantol-Derith will have quests / story line?

danaswansondanaswanson Member Posts: 87 Arc User
Hi fellow adventurers,

I was just curious when Mantol-Derith will have quests and a story line. I've played "The Hunt for Demogorgon" and it's a great skirmish. Just wondering when to expect the rest of the content to be added.

Thanks!

And that is where this expansion failed... Where is the beef? Where is the underdark based content... Surely, the few short quests to Gauntlgrym is it.... Is it?

Yeah, calling this an "Underdark" expansion is kind of misleading.

I wouldnt say "great" content, but frankly there is WAY more then enough to do in regular pve stuff atm.

They actually could revamp some of the game and make it a little less content heavy for landscape (ie not group) stuff.

and yes.. I do not consider some hes really group content, even if it takes a group to do it.. they do not require any strategy, any heals, any tanks.. they are all strict as pie zerg fests.

I wouldve liked them not to do HEs and recycle zones and do a regular quest hub in the underdark instead.. but oh well.. it is what it is..

Im still trying to figure out why IWD had to have its own map.. i mean look at all of the room up there, you would think they would go back and make some more content up there at some point.

I don't think there's a need to add more content for the time being. They did provide a lot of great content with this module: The exciting new skirmishes, the exciting new quest to kill crabs, the exciting new heroic encounters (fighting friggin' demons, how rad is that?) and the exciting new work on improving your professions to hitherto unforeseen heights.

It's a good time to be excited and even squee a bit for all the exciting new content they've just provided for us.

    Not sure if sarcastic or...

It's laggy enough as it is with what little people are there already, imagine they actually gave the players a real reason to return to IWD. Beautiful zones but oh so wasted.

I was assuming Underdark was going to be the next Icewind Dale type of location in Mantol-Derith. When I arrived in Mantol-Derith the place was so unique and beautiful looking. I can only hope there's going to be more content. I've been playing for about a year and a half and the game is feeling like it needs another location like Icewind Dale.

...hope they don't botch it like they did with WoD.

After IwD had been so great, with all-new monsters, quest mechanics (HEs were new and thrilling then), WoD was a 100% recycled stale re-brew of DR plus Mod 4 Cultists, or, put plainly, a complete turnoff...

Because, in principle, this is going to be the same game as Mod 4/5... ...just Dem is there immediately, and we don't have to wait for that like we had to for Tia... ...umm, or, (re-)considering and ruminating this, we might. Like in "be in for nother slightly more powerful Demon Prince with a few more heads* to come in and take this botched plot over"...

    * Sooooo, let's do the math: Vilithrax had one head, Tia then had five. Demo has two heads - so I sarcastically figure whoever will come with Mod 9 might be a ten-headed Demon Prince... ...lore geeks, please? Are there any suspects that fit this extrapolation?

Because IWD is actually WAY further north than the top of that map goes. That IWD is even relevant is the bigger surprise. Why are demons happening in two regions a thousand miles apart? If they're just appearing everywhere, then this is a MASSIVE issue for the continent at large, and it's odd that there's no word of such a massive, nation-unifying crisis.

    Cult of the Dragons?

Portal in IwD map magnifying glass, WoD down south in another. Deities (especially evil ones) and their less-than-philantropic worshippers seem to think on a global scale...

It is pretty absurdly stupid that they put demons in IWD. They have no business being there and wouldn't the BI corrupted things there turn them into chew toys? What the hell happened to the notion about BI being so powerful and exotic?

They should have just finished the underdark map and leaves EVERYTHING down there, not place HEs all over the place to ruin the whole immersion. Next they'll put robots in sharandar.
