What is Tenacity

I see that all PVP gear has this stat,what does it cover,how does it work,how is it figured in when Attacking and Defending?

    I know it is on my char sheet,and yes it states what it does,but to what extent,how much tenacity will be needed in order to be effective,does the pvp community feel that tenacity is working,I also asked because this game has plenty of things that says what they do and you know the rest.

    you said the amount of time your controlled is lowered by Tenacity if im reading it right,but that can be countered by artifacts with control bonus's right?

    its not even remotely comparable the effect.
    the most you will reach with artifact is 10%.
    you gain 44% and more just by wearing the last pvp gear set

    As you say "not even remotely comparable" is this the same with Tenacity effecting the others,basicly tenacity trumps them all situations when its present or am I reading that wrong?

    i dont get your question.
    tenacity does exactly what macjae wrote and cant be countered by armor pen.
    control on you get basically halved and so the damage you receive.

    sorry should of said my question as this,tenacity cuts Armor Pen,critical hits against you,control effects in half when you have tenacity? just trying to get like a number or percentage of how much in this case you say it cuts all the above in half.

    it increases with the amount of tenacity.
    with current best gear we around about 44% reduction of the things above stated.
    you can check your case in your character sheet
