Some of the players that go through dungeons don't know what the other players are doing nor do they care. Some are in a hurry to get to the end and have their own agenda in their mind. Others like to collect everything the challenge offers. So if YOU are getting more things than I am, I will vote to have YOU KICKED OUT so I can collect the items and at the end collect my astral diamonds (diamonds you have to work your way through the dungeon twice to get). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but how satisfying is it to know that YOU wasted YOUR time to go through the game and then get kicked out with no reward to show for the time you spend. After all, this game is all about time invested in everything that you do to build up your character.
Is it good that developers allow players to be kicked out of a challenge for no good reason, other than being disconnected, refusing to play, standing still for ten minutes, or maybe being that rude player talking in your ear? Who cares! If YOU get booted because I AM MAD AT YOU, all the better for me knowing YOU will come out with no astral diamonds, no end of challenge rewards, and wasted time because YOU have to go through it again with other players to get what I could go through again twice, maybe with you and vote to kick you out again!
Yes, there are people who do this and feel this way. How do I know this? Look at all the bad things people do in the real-world. I do not think this is fair to players. It's not fair because everyone has put in the time to go through the challenges and if you're being kicked out because some jerk feels this way, you should get some sort of reward too. If someone spent a particular amount of time in challenges and are getting booted by players who feel this way (or those who accidentally over push buttons when fighting and the other player presses agree because they don't care) should get half or an appropriate amount of reward for time spent. This would be fair to all players. Maybe only allow boots for those who stand still for a particular amount of time only? Either way:
FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sadly, the only option now is to not pick up a green item (or any need n green) -leave it on the ground -and they cant kick you ( i think thats how it works...) -I havent been kicked once since new mod - did I say that out loud....ooops (JYNX!!!!)
Someone said to me they leave the first lock box of theirs on the floor to counter this - I've not tried it but they say it works. Give it a go. Also as myfist says - it should work on green items too - often nobody goes to pick these up.
You can't fix people but the devs have put in place things that make it harder so just try to use the rules for your advantage.
In the previous mod there were no rules and all high value drops were up for grabs rather than specific for you - so 3 friends/guildies would vote out the other two players just so one of them would be guaranteed to get the drop.
Thankfully this is no longer the case.

We had a 4/5 premade going through eCC, because we would NOT exploit the last boss the player then died and would not release from the boss room for over 20 minutes until half of our players rage quit. We never finished the dungeon because one player would not release to reset the encounter. I wanted to kick this player so bad but because of valuable GREEN loot on the ground we had to sit there in awe for a stupid amount of time by a trash player. Guess it can be a good positive thing to protect players but in this case was just plain dumb. I am leery of even running this dungeon with a PUG because I enjoy the challenge.... We were put in a uncomfortable position. Rant over.

I think it would be reasonable for a timer to run on drops. Say 10 mins to pick something up then it gets excluded as a votekick-blocker.

I personally think the booting option has faults. I've been booted just for entering a dungeon or putting out more damage than others or those who are butthurt because they missed a runestone roll or a green item roll. Grow up people. Get through the dungeon and work as a team in PVE. I laugh at how many people are soo self centered in a PVE environment. Play PVP if you want to complain about other people.
theirs a way to kick people even with stuff on the ground few people know it mainly the pc ones I wont expose this but if u want to be that guy in my lobby that sits there trust me I can kick u. but I do try to wait a min or 2 b4 doing so theirs ways around the leaveing loot on ground u can't kick me 2.
It is a problem! I would think it is possible to keep track of players who suggest a kick for over a certain amount of times and send them a warning and start monitoring or limiting there usage of the privilege? I feel that would put an end to it pretty quickly?
My wife got kicked out of a standard dungeon just cause her character is level 70 (we do standards for the quick AD); the other two guys were 20-30 and didn't seem to like that. Pretty stupid, cause it would've been way easier and faster for 'em.
My HR got kicked out of ECC at the very end by a guild, not going to say which only initials SP. There was only 4 of us the entire time, my HR, a TR, a DC, and a GWF. We got* to the last fire, the DC stood out and then I saw load screen. I was at the top of DPS by a good bit, but for some reason they felt the need to kick.
that's old school at this point though. the HR is the easiest for *absolutely totally* legitimately killing him with that aimed strike melee after the dual pallys and hasty DC do their thing of course. these days. with only four of them they would still have room to get one more in too. they probably had two more guild members who wanted in and were going to queue up or something.
I was participating. One player was ahead of me and one player (which I'm sure kicked me out) was behind me. Next thing I knew I was being transported out of the dungeon and the message said "Kick approved" or something like that.
Seems like there is not a slot for people to place a reason for a kick. I hope those reason are being reviewed carefully and so are those players kick history.
Yea, it just sucks to go through the entire dungeon with no easy mode bubble only to get kicked at the boss. But I didn't worry, I blocked those three people and made a note of the guild they were in, to avoid them in the future. It is very odd though, that was the 1st time any of my toons had been kicked since MOD6 and it just happened to be my strongest one lol.

Some teams, you know, need someone like a CW to complete this dungeon.
