There is a white dye in the TB store but I hear it's more a beige or cream colour than white.
White dye is indeed now in the trade bar store. In regards to the hue and value of the dye, it is actually a very, very light gray, as an 100% white dye would cause lighting and texture issues. However, it should appear quite white on most items. That being said, depending on the texture of the item, the dye channel may not always account for 100% of the item's hue, in this case, when dying an item white, it may appear slightly warmer or cooler, resulting in for instance, the appearance of the dye being off-white.

So Winterwolf is white.... but white is not white... nice. Please put this on the bottom of things to do! I know you guys like fixing dyes and super important role play things, but way more things are wrong with mod 8 lol.

It is most definitely not a light gray, OR WHITE.
My paladin is gold now. Not even remotely resembling white. The white from the cleric dye gives white, way more white than this so called white dye.
Applied it to fashion the outfit looks like a 30 year old dingy pillow! It's disgusting. Would you give a guest a dirty old pillow to sleep with?
I apply it over a DC dye's white area, it turns tan/gold. Now what excuse claims white is not possible? I didn't try this with just a couple. I've done over 30 different things. NONE of em show up as white.

Devoted Cleric's Dye Pack does not have a white channel. Its primary channel is blue. If you apply blue to a yellow base you wash out the yellow hue. So your equipment is yellowish at base, and the DC pack makes it look whiter. The Bottle of White Dye just makes the underlying yellow brighter.

Does that really matter? It shows up as white ingame. That's all that matters.

Well, if you had understood how the dyes function you wouldn't have wasted 30 attempts and then complained on the forums when none of them worked. But in the grand scheme of things, dyes don't really matter.
I find it interesting that you guys seem to be talking as if this is real life, or actual paints or cloth. If this is truely how the system was designed - IE take the dye and apply it over the existing color, making a different color - thats just overly complicated and unnecessary. If I apply a white channel to any other color, overwrite the other color and make it the color I picked. Why make it more difficult than that?
And since this is a fashion thread, I want to say this: Remove transmutation costs. 100% totally remove them. All this will do is make YOUR game look BETTER...and isn't that a good thing? People won't have mismatched armor sets, won't have clashing colors or look like clowns. Let people decide what they look like. STO has done this, and the game LOOKS far better. You have put far to much time and effort into the designs of the armor and such in this game to force people to spend hundreds of thousands of AD just to utilize it. /soapbox

I experimented with a lot of the packs and keep coming back to the simple "Bottle of Black Dye" I found being able to pick which part of the armor gets changed gets more personalized results. Check out my Pally.
