Something that requires a bit of thought - like a murder mystery event where the player has to find clues and solve puzzles.

Could I also suggest that unlike most events, the prizes not be useless tat? I don't play most events as I realised a while back that top prizes are either rubbish or require so many hours of input that I'm never going to finish.

(Other) Similar to armadeonx, something that takes some thought but isn't locked behind creativity or art. I did a hunt the NPC competition for the guild recently where I picked 10 NPCs dotted round the world and the guild had to name them by the clues I gave. Something along that path maybe. Obviously cant enter by posting on the forum though or it's easy to cheat.

Art, fiction or anything that requires a creative mindset

What kind of community event would you like to see?

I'm a big fan of creative competitions like "Draw something that happened to you in-game using MS Paint". Art quality shouldn't matter, but the humour, wit and expressionism of it should.

Random giveaways are totally fine, people mostly are concentrating on their stronghold activities anyways. Also, video contests are fine, no? And please please give us new CTAs thanks

something similar to hide and seek and murder mystery using the appearance changers from the Halloween event. something like

"one of the Masquerade Illusionists has been tempted by tymora and has taken the place of a key figure in protectors enclave. how well do you know your enclave? once you begin the mission you have 1 hour to choose whom you think has been replaced. this is a masquerade illusionist after all, it will not be the same answer each time."

you don't even need to change character models. just change dialog options on some people adventurers talk to and when they get it right quick mini animation/ text popup of you did it (maybe like heroic encounter success but rogue illusionist success)!!! so and so will be returned. and everyone's happy now!! you rock!!"

if its random for each person then it wont be easy to cheat. maybe have 5 options/plots.
some chars id think would work-
-guy who gives you daily dungeon keys
-the 2 people to the left and right of the lord neverwinter.
-random merchant in merchant square
-the herald near the tree who call out news.
-a few chars in the moonstone tavern too.

make 4-5 conversation plots and key questions and answers. have a few overlap, and don't let anyone choose an option until there atleast 20 min into the event (or have had 4/10 conversations or something.. (otherwise its just a message spam
only can do it maybe 1 time per day successfully for some reward. maybe 100 zen? i dunno. thats more your decision.

A tournament of sorts

PvP Tournament.....there has to be one. This could be the start of something a lot of PvP'rs have been asking for. Each Guild's best 5. I have see ideal threads about this already and would love to see this happen. Even if people choose not to participate they could either watch or better yet for more fun make simple wagers on teams amongst another player from the stands.
Would just love to see this happen sometime in my lifetime.

totally agree with this but would love to see something more permanent and maybe an ability to 1v1 without interruptions or cheating with friends buffs or heals

In-game events like Hide and Seek

A Tournament would be okay, but I don't see anything permanent like that ever being implemented. This is mainly a PvE game, and so, I don't see them adding some large portion just for PvP. When Only a small percentage of players actually PvP on a regular basis.

I would like to see the Wonders of Gond event back again, its been a while... and some are still wanting the Aparatus of Gond mount. or an event that Xbox hasnt seen like Respens Game or the Alchemical extravaganza (or are we past that??)
-and a NEW CTA would be great- maybe a "gen 3" version
Or...
-seriously- how about a "hunt" game where we hunt certain creatures in certain areas, maybe some are for guild ect...
maybe even contain one or 2 of the guild "buff foods"... I remember when we did this in beginning campaign to feed the people during the war effort. Kill some to help/ kill some for food- have a summer festival form, but more Thanksgiving related, you know, feed the poor and NPCs that have been ousted by the ongoing war...
-maybe involving an attack on the guilds and on protectors (or another area like Rothe' valley -by the bad guys involved and thier accompaning animals ect...
small enough to farm and still do your dailies ect... or let it go for 5 days or w/e
-and maybe theres a mystery element to it too- a who dunnit or twist plot you know

-give that thought to R.A. salvatore and he can run with it...

or- I just thought of a "player" ambush on a warring party thats about to hit NeverWinter!!!
make it in 3 phases- and if not completed in the alloted time- it comes to protectors enclave (or other suitable area)
-maybe even a version at the guild hall too...hmm
