Unable to progress through Elemental Evil

Hi!
Not that it wasn't a pain in the neck, this EE thing, now i can't level my DC.
I have done this now 5 times and this never happened. When i go to the guard in PE to play hero, right after the intro Minsc jumps to the opposite side of the barricades and the quests gets bugged there. Sometimes it goes as far as 60+ %, sometimes only 15 %.
He jumps and just stands there as an idiot, not fighting at all and the enemies don't come to my side, so i can't progress.
Tried it several times, waited 20 mins or so, but it gets bugged out sooner or later. Since this quest doesn't work, my DC can't go to the leveling areas.
Help needed!
