Events, is there a way to turn them off?

I guess i may be in a minority here but I absoluteley detest events like this latest masquerade nonsense. I have to fill my inventory with rubbish I have no intention of using together with quests in my logue I dont want to do. Is there a way of permenently turning these events off?

    It's not a question of being right or wrong is it, the fact of the matter is that I personally detest these events and have zero interest in them. As such I would very much love to be able to permanently turn them off which is why I asked if anyone knew if this was in fact possible to do.

    No, you can not turn them off. You don't have to participate (just trash the items you get and don't pick up the quests).

    Thankyou for the straight answer, at least I now know that it is not possible to turn them off.

    You can abandon the quests you've already accepted to free you UI too.

    There have been many events that did not interest me...I simply don't participate.
