Stronghold gear better than current?

Some one please tell me that "The gear we are grinding for is less than a month from being obsolete again?" Is incorrect no matter the timescale! I have been doing Icewind Dale trying to get my black ice ranks up to enable me to make my gear better (That same gear I still have not managed to get from dungeons yet) So for someone to say that its obsolete thanks to upcoming Stronghold gear could be the final nail in the coffin as there is literally no point in me playing trying to earn this gear! I don't care if it still takes a month or 2 to get the better Stronghold gear it still means the gear I'm still trying to get is a pointless time wasting task! A time wasting task that can and is proving to take me quite some time to get!

If this is true what planet are the devs on doing this so soon after Mod 6? It makes no sense what so ever!

Someone please put me out of my misery!

I would just get elemental alliance gear, then start saving up protector seals. Dragon flight will be the new bis, with 2 and 3 pc set bonuses. You need protector seals, guild seals and dragon fangs for the new pieces. Your guild stronghold will need to be leveled up to be able to buy this gear and that could take months depending on guild

Nah I'm finished with NW now, I've had what I will call 6 good months playing but I've had enough of this, not only the latest imo mess up decisions by the devs but I've just been reading about the Stronghold issues and one is a MASSIVE NO NO for me! What do I mean, simply this.

I spend another 6 months doing Strongholds managing to get better gear, boons etc from donating and helping the guild only for one massively, stupidly, idioticly, brainmessingly you get my drift-ingly mental issue which is den den derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! The guild leader can just boot you out of the guild with no bye, cya, tata or anything, so all that hard work building your Stronghold and donating how ever much was ALL FOR NOTHING!

THIS IS HAPPENING!

Its nuts!

DO NOT tell me to join a guild you trust, theres no such thing! My advice is make your own guild and be the one with ALL THE POWER! Sorry but thats just not for me, I could start my own guild for safety seen as I spend so much time on the game but I have no interest in playing god!

Ah well time to sort out what to do with my Zen, do I just buy bags and give them away or mounts? Not sure but I'm not interested in spending so much time with the chance it could all be for nothing, wait a minute thats what I'm doing now! Trying to get gear thats taking me ages only for it to be pointless when Strongholds is released!

I'll be back with info on what I decide to do with the zen!

Thing is how can you even forge good friendships. Only 10 in voice chat, typing is cumbersome at best. No raids(pvp is a lame excuse, and the strongholds version of 20 v 20 is just poor).
It's as if they are intentionally tanking the game and I just can't fathom why. It's as if their desire to make more money will end up making none.

I'm actually annoyed the more I think about it, I loved playing this game but I cannot believe the changes they have made since release, they have made the game worse! Why? Updates, dlc etc are supposed to make the game better but after playing for so long and after loving then hating but coming back for more only to hate it some more and now other issues that WILL arise when Strongholds comes, its so sad!

I was going to keep on playing until November but then I heard Strongholds was coming and got a little bit of that "I'll stay" Feeling, only then to read about the gear situation which annoyed me but even worse to read about what can happen with Stronghold guilds which is simple the most stupid thing now in the game, lets all play for months helping build a Strong hold, donating stupid amounts of whatever only for the guild leader to................erm sorry I'm repeating myself!

The game for a new player is good up to a point, then it just goes downhill very very fast.

You have been warned about the Stronghold guild leader situation so don't come crying if it happens!

Pretty lame , it's a game, meant to be played when your bored, not be your life. Mmo are always changing, you don't like the changes, find a new one. Don't throw a temper tantrum, whine and cry about it. Go cry to your mom no one here wants to here it.

Someone starts a post about stronghold gear, something of interest. So I respond with info. Then instead about discussing gear, they whine about the new content. If they started a post called "whining and crying about the game" then I wouldn't bother reading it or responding like majority of the recent posts.

The devs provide a service for profit. If they don't make a profit, then they won't provide the service. If no one wants there service, they don't make a profit. All these changes have been done on PC, the devs know what the results will be, and they make the same changes cuz it works for what they want to do. If they go to far and can't find a balance, then the game fails, nothing to cry about.

Everyone understands the service for profit thing, most also understand the basic point some players are making: You cannot grind this gear alone - you have to assist in building a guild's stronghold but have no safety in your investment.

If you can be booted from a guild after 3 months (e.g) investment so you can get the new gear you effectively have to start again. Or guild hop, but with the new guild cap, the ones with good strongholds are going to be highly selective regarding recruits current item level (i.e. catch 22)

This is a valid point.

number two makes a lot of sense. not only should the credit be carried but the guild who did the kicking should be docked that amount.

I did start the thread to question the gear situation as it is another issue I'm not happy with, what do you think forums are for? Do you think they are only for all things nice? The forums give the players a way to vent their frustrations regarding a game issue, if we didn't have this what would we do, write the devs a letter! Oh not wait we aren't allowed to complain!

I just do not at all understand your view that you shouldn't complain about a game, thats a stupid way to think, its due to players venting issues that can actually make a game better, I haven't slated NW I've actually said I loved the game 6 months playing proves that but the changes they have brought in imo have made the game worse. Your basically saying that if your playing any game and you come across something you don't like, don't complain just stop playing, if that was the case there would be hardly any gamers as I'm sure every gamer has complained about nearly every game they have played meaning they should "Just stop playing"

Your comment "The devs provide a service for profit" Speaks volumes as it seems that they are more interested in profit no matter if it destroys the game, thats madness why not make the game better which will in fact bring in more gamers, some of which will put their money into the game i.e good for both sides!

Wrong on every level, games are made to entertain us, suck us in and make us want more so when a game does that but then starts to change for the wrong reasons pushing you away from a game you love you've got a good right to "Cry" a.k.a Make a complaint! Theres a very good chance you will have complained about a game before, maybe not on a forum but in general chat with your mates, if you have then that makes you a hypocrite, that not an insult its a fact!

This /\ is such a simple way to resolve the guild kicking issue, so if some random gamer (armadeonx) Can think of it then why cant developers of the game? Don't tell me "All the high class Stronghol guildies would just join forces to create the best Stronghold, SO WHAT! Al song as I knew what I have earned helping the Stronghold is safe then I don't care whos got the best, I come across players in the game who far superior in gameplay than me, good for them I hope I can be like that one day!

I will mention this once more, the current issue of kicking players out of a guild no matter how long they have been in and donated/spent on that Stronghold is as bad as the loot/boot issue! There isn't a cat in hells chance of me spending months "Chancing" Playing in a guild for so long with the risk of loosing everything at the click of a button! What if that click is your own mistake "Leave guild" Ooops - lost everything earned! Nuts!

Virtueofcyanide, thanks for the offer mate but I don't even know you, you could be a random nutjob that gets all high and mighty after a few months and decides to boot me from the guild thus me loosing everything! PLEASE don't take that the wrong way, I'm sure your a decent person that wouldn't do that but my point is that you just don't know what any guild leaders personality or agenda is so your taking a massive chance, one I'm not willing to take, the guild leader could be someone you have gamed with or been friends with for years then all of a sudden you have some stupid random disagreement and boom out you go! As mentioned I have no intentions of being a guild leader and trying to get people into my guild so this is not an option.

it has higher stats but for pve they are not always the desired ones.
you will probably end up keeping your old set.
for pvp instead is definitely better...we are talking about miles better

Wait.... You mean there is other threads about this with hundreds of responses with the exact same suggestions? So the devs know what people think about it? Why wouldn't someone just post there opinion on that thread instead of making new?

Making a suggestion to devs = commenting on already started about issue.

Whing and crying = making new thread , threatening to rage quit and using caps lol.

You totally missed my point didn't ya! This is also the XB1 thread NOT (Oh look caps) The PC thread! It doesn't make any difference if the devs see these posts or not they do as they please anyway!

Answer me 3 questions:-

1) Have you any complaints at all about NW?
2) What do you think game forums are for?
3) You join a guild or are in a guild and play Strongholds for lets say 3 months but then your booted and loose everything you earned after all your hard work, whats your reaction if this happens?

Oh and I am finished with NW, that doesn't mean I cannot still comment about a game I loved playing thats slowly being destroyed and will continue to visit on the off chance they make a change for the good that brings me back!

I was under the assumption that they have a 3 piece set bonus for the main gear.

It's two pc set bonus and 3 pc set bonus. You can mix and match raid and assault they both count as long as their all "dragon flight". The pvp lionmane gear has set bonus also.

I don't disagree with the suggestions that are made and I would support them. I read the threads , agreed with the 50 people's suggestions. If I would have had something to add , I would add. I wouldn't start a new thread under a misleading heading and whine and cry about stuff that has already been discussed. Just like the ad leadership, there is a thread for that, give suggestions, complain whenever. Don't go making a bunch of threads rehashing the same boring stuff .

Guild still have to build merchany area with consecutive build times and some how having all materials to build with ready, your lookin at 28days. So realistically your looking at 2 and a hal to 3 months before being able to purchase new gear

Let me get this right, you think an issue that's already been raised shouldn't be brought up again even though that very same issue is on a different format? Under that logic there shouldn't be any issues raised at all for the XB1 version as probably every single other issue will have been discussed on the PC version forum, which also btw shows that the devs don't care about issues when releasing stuff on the new format as those exact same issues are still occurring! If so your logic makes no sense what so ever!

Ok one part were I fail is that Strongholds hasn't yet released on XB1 but when it is released and people come to complain about that Stronghold issue on XB1 (You can bet it will happen) They should head over to the PC forum to complain in the thread already started about that very same issue! Here's a novel idea, sort that issue first before releasing it onto another format!

Oh and your a bit of a contradiction, your complaining about me complaining about a game on that same games forum? Cos that makes sense!

I think what you need to do is head over to google and search for a forum based on complaining about gamers complaining about a game then you may feel right at home! Oh and one last thing, you didn't answer my 3 questions!

Make a new thread with title, "crying about stronghold" , that's great. As I clearly stated, making threads with misleading titles so you can "warn" everyone and cry is lame.

I answered all three question with my previous statement, if you can't see that re read.

I posted on this post, to talk about stronghold gear as title stated, and your first post asked about. From 2nd post on you turned it into a cry fest.

Sorry I should say a bit more, the title of the topic is mis-leading for the content given by the original poster. I felt it was more throwing the toys out of the pram as it were rather than something constructive.

Later in the thread the original poster made a much better detailed post. But I feel like my life was wasted reading this thread.

I've been thinking about this convo and the previous issue I had this week among others in the past and came to the realization that I'm just annoyed that the game I loved playing has changed in a way "I" Dont like! Maybe thats why I feel so peeved off, I still believe that the changes made and issues unresolved are and will continue to drive players away but thats all just my opinion, there are obviously many who still like playing and prefer the new changes so as you have stated maybe I just need to go find another game and maybe come back to NW when new content is added and hope its a change for the better for me and many others who have left.

So I'll leave it at that, keep gaming peeps!

Unfortunately changes will make some happy and some unhappy... It is just a shame you fall into the category of unhappy. But from what you have posted it really sounds like a lot of what if`s etc. You are kind of complaining about things that have not actually happened on the Xbox yet and may never actually happen to you.

Anyhoo hope one day you get back into it and there are some amazing Guilds out there who really do act with good intentions of all.
