An escape from a life of Sin (RP)

A Cleric who was saved from a life she had never imagined living. A seedy club in the back alleys of the dragon coast was her life. She lived her life there, dancing in skimpy clothing just to get by. She hated her life, but it was all she knew, all she felt like she could do. Some nights, she cried herself to sleep at night, knowing what she would have to deal with the next day...and the next...and the next. One night, as she was doing her usual routine, a group of cutthroats walked in, causing trouble and hooting at her. It was nothing new to her, she had endured it before. One of them, however, was different. She sat quietly at the bar, silently drinking her pints of ale. After she had done her routine, the silent pirate approached her. I simply thought she wanted a dance, but she instead gave me a generous sum of gold. "Someone like you doesn't deserve this life." She said to me. "I can see the pain in your eyes. I know how it feels to think your life is worthless, that your just eye candy for everyone around you, but know that you're not. You have dreams, i'm sure. I want you to live a life worth something to yourself, live how you want." I had tears in my eyes by the time she finished speaking. She smiled at me. I thanked her numerous times, fighting to simply hold back my joy.

As soon as that night ended, I quit and bought a small home. It felt a little strange at first, not having to wake up, slap on makeup, and dress in little more than 3 pieces of cloth. But it was a good kind of strange, a strange I greatly enjoyed. For once in my life, I was able to wake up with a smile on my face.

I got some books from the local arcanery, I knew I had to learn some kind of real skills. But I found my mind kept drifting back to that pirate who made this life possible for me. The kindness she showed me, I had never experienced it before in my life. I wasn't sure...but I think I fell in love with her. I may have fallen in love with her kindness...but...I felt it ran deeper than that. I tried to get back to my studies, but she constantly kept creeping back into my mind. Not that I really minded...

I came across a book that especially peaked my interest. It was a book about that goddess Sune. Her teachings of compassion, artistry, and the love that is deep inside us all reminded me of that pirate. It saddened me that I never got her name. I made my decision then, to follow the goddess Sune to my fullest ability.

I was able to find volumes on her teachings. I followed them to the letter, show compassion to those in need, promote art in all its forms, find love in all things. One night, as I finished my offering to Sune, She appeared before me. She said that she had followed me for awhile, and she always wanted me to succeed in life. I had asked her if she sent that pirate to me to help me in my time of need. She simply said that that pirate was compassionate, and knew I had more to offer the world than my body. Sune blessed me then, saying that I had changed my life around so much, that I embodied her teachings. She told me to wander the world, spreading compassion and bringing change to a world so full of anger and rage. She directed me to the city of Neverwinter, a city in dire need of help. I followed her direction and immediately took off for the city of Neverwinter.

Even to this day, as I fight the evil cults of Neverwinter, I think about that pirate. I hope one day to meet her again, to tell her how I feel, how much she helped me change my life. I hope to see her again...and maybe...we can start a life together.
Even though I no longer lived that life, I kept the name they gave me. It reminded me of that night when I met her.

My name is Desire, named for what I make people feel, named for what drives people forward, named for what makes us do the things we do in life.

(My RP character, feel free to tell me your opinions, just wanted to share this with the RP fans out there)
