Worried about Leadership Profession in the future for Xbone.

Imho Leadership was designed to make AD. It's the ONLY function of that profession that i know of. It's the reason it took AGES to lvl to 20 and now to 25. Now they are taking the AD out of it on the PC because of Botters... Which is also the reason they nerfed the Dragon Hoard Enchants on PC, which makes me worry if one day we too will lose our Leadership AD, because we "magically"(cut and pasted) got the same nerf on DHE's with our update even though we can not possibly ever recreate the action that deserved the punishment in the first place. Only given the explanation i know of is, "It is what it is." Which i'm sorry but what it is, is not fair. That's like punishing the whole class for one kids misbehavior. It's counter productive. Without Ad Leadership will be useless, pointless and a waste of programming to have in the game. Can any Moderators or Developers confirm or deny my fears please?

Its definitely not the only function of it. Proffession resources, gold, and xp too. AD might be the only motivation for many, but you do get some other good stuff with leadership as well.

Would be really nice to get an chance at eggs, aggregates, and elements as well, not to mention profession assets (increased likelihood).

I do hope cryptic tweaks the benefits of leadership since they are taking away from us. It's also very uncool to nerf what many of us built up and invested in....

PS - If the mantra continues to be that XB1 and PC will be on same ruleset/mod, do we really need a dev to come in here and tell you what you already know? I've seen threads locked down re: this discussion, which just tells me they aren't ready to deal with XB1 fallout from this change until they get PC stabilized. Note that the leadership tweak also comes with an economy overhual (superior GMoP and likely price adjustments based on the new avg income to time ratio).

Yeah I gotta agree with OP. This took ages and real cash to build up. It would be something if it was a profession everyone got at max but, it had literally taken me since almost day one using it on several characters three times a day sometimes to get to 20 now. I think that is the reason I won't spend anymore money until I'm confident that developers are responsible enough with decision making that players have to come first. I don't say this ad a threat or anything other than to state why my fears cause me to tighten my purse so to speak. Hopefully they do something that gains back their players confidence besides throwing some changes in to offset the missing AD. Sorry but that's just not enough.

meh, half way decent payouts take like what, 12 hours and xbox doesn't have gate way so you have to actually log on. Leadership seems like one of the most ineffective ways to make ad for the xbox player.

they have said bots isn't the only reason they removed AD from leadership. the developers and a lot of other people didn't like the fact that players with 20 characters can make more AD by not playing the game than players who run dungeons.

Pretty much nailed it right here. AD is supposed to be a "time currency" according to the game devs meaning, the more time you play the game, the more you earn. Now I've spent the past hour or so ranting about how it's still got its issues over on reddit so I'm not about to just retype them all over here. But to summarize, you should have never been able to earn a time currency by not playing the game to begin with. Changes that need to follow the removal of AD from leadership are a price reduction in the cost to upgrade gear/enchants (which was already very recently announced as a change for PC) and they need to take the brakes off of AD earning that is otherwise known as Rough AD (24k AD per day is not enough, and its the main reason why so many turned to making AD via Leadership farms).

Running a leadership-farm on the XB1 is really painful, switching characters takes forever, and you have to be on an Xbox to do it, so it's kinda labor intensive to get rich that way...

So, hopefully we'll get to keep it quite a while longer, please?

I would really appreciate an actual developer outline the plans regarding this profession though...

Simply looking at the GMoP changes the devs have made to PC, I'd say we'll get the change as well just because the GMoP change goes hand in hand with the AD Leadership change and the GMoP change added a new type of upgrading reagent, Superior Marks.

Replacing ad with other useful items, is well beyond the intelligence of the game devs.

I mean, how stupid can devs be who destroyed their pc version, then instead of take a different route on the wildly popular console version..just release the same mods, thus destroying the console version as well

I saw all this coming months ago which is why I stopped playing..4 or 5 months ago

While I agree that AD should be for those who play and not those who use 20 characters just to get Leadership AD....I have to say that it is impossible to get AD while leveling from 60-70. Unless I missed something, you can't run dungeons to obtain ANYTHING to salvage. And the only daily you can do to get AD is PvP and that is only 3k AD.

Then again, maybe I missed some secret way to get AD now. If there is some other way to get AD without running dungeons OR using Leadership, please inform me.

Of course there is another way..its called buying it. Why do you think it was designed to screw you like this
  • bagoatbagoat Member Posts: 171 Arc User
@monktoasty Are you really commenting on a game you admit to not playing for the past 4 to 5 months? So you are basing "how the game is" on nothing other than what a very very small percentage of the player base says on forums, or some other source other than personal experience? AND you are calling people stupid in the process?
I think you are the pot calling the kettle black. o/

Just because I stopped playing, doesnt mean anything. Just look at the pc numbers and thats that.

Yes I am calling the devs idiots.

It is a "timed currency" so people training leadership should not be able to get it? I am sorry, my warlock just reached level 21 leadership and has been around for 175 days at least, because that is how many ardent coins I have. How have I not put in the "time" to be able to expect to gain from such a long term investment that I followed through with? Most people turned away from leadership at like 14 or 15 when they realized how long it would take, this completely screws everyone, not just the people who trained leadership up but everyone because there is going to be very little flow of diamonds into the game at all.

Before mod 6 I was making about 50k diamonds a day, I now average about 40k because I sometimes cannot run two sets of tasks per day with the ridiculous hike in time on the tasks and this is almost the only income I have now, because there is virtually no other way to make diamonds.

Not so much to defend the changes as to cheer you up:

Second i need to agree with you that there does not seem to be, short of selling profession items such as wood and metals, PVP, Skirms during those times, or salvaging what you already had. any way of making AD daily between lvls 60-70.

Going from 60 to 70 with 5 Azure rank 7 should take about 25 hours of game time. See you there soon
Once you are there and start running IWD Epic Encounters you'll see that they drop Epic profession resources which a.t.m. sell 15,000 - 40,000 AD, which is quite nice. I do just a few of them a day but it's enough :)

-We have 50-60k Hp and max potion heals 10k of that.... USELESS. One stack of 20 costs 2 gold.
-We have to purchase even more powerful injury kits. One stack of 20 costs 5 gold now.

Well, at level 70 once you've got all your green gear replaced with some blues and campaign epics you should have anywhere between 70-120K HP. Plus I'd get a lot of Life Steal. And of course Soulfourged if you still don't have it.
Running Sharandar dailies takes almost no kits/potions but bring 5-10 gold, so after reaching level 70 I'm constantly floating at around 130 gold.

The company says they are being "nice" by giving us a 200 charge health stone to compensate for this. IMHO they get you hooked on the easy fast heal and make you pay out the nose for more after that. Health stones are only available with Zen. Which cost real money or AD we can't seem to produce anymore as rapidly. Coincidence?

I'm not sure where you needed health stones along the way fro 60 to 70. Just don't go into the lairs for Vigilant tasks if they seem hard, or team up with others at the entrances.

I've just noticed that some of the Vigilance tasks (like 1 out of 10) reward you with Elemental Aggregates, which is a pretty useful reward, currently selling very quickly at 6500 AD in AH.
