The state of PvP at lvl70

vdeekvvdeekv Member Posts: 77 Arc User

My experience:

PvP was essentially premade hell beforehand, but queuing solo or with 2/3 you'd get a few matches against other randoms that were competitive and enjoyable, they'd break up the boredom while grinding for your profound.

At lvl70 you are now essentially locked out of PvP unless you're a premade, as the main pvp guilds get more toons to 70 this gets worse.

Now the two healer/paladin/tank groups are getting there it's just beyond a joke. I've read comments from pvp guilds before about how they don't like pub stomping and want separate solo and group queues, yet the same guilds then deliberately stack classes in a group that they know will whitewash 99% of the matches they play... When a team gives up and waits out the match (as why bother giving them more glory, there's no reward for trying to win), the premade then try and entice people to cap so they can get better progress in their pvp campaign.

If you think you might have a chance in Gauntlgrym, as they can't queue as a premade 10 ppl right? Think again, they'll 'queue snipe' to get two premades in the same team. Either way a premade 5 players going in geared for pvp will invariably be enough to carry their team to an easy victory when facing pugs.

If the PC players feedback is anything to go by, none of the above means anything to Cryptic/PW. As the broken, end game pvp queue system and team balancing persists, but I'll add my rant to the list of ignored player feedback ;-)

Such a shame, as the pvp in NW can be a lot of fun and the new pvp content/campaign and forthcoming Strongholds is hella cool. I don't profess to be a pvp god and can 'take my licks' like a man when bested by another team/player. But at this point it feels way too much like being barred from content.

PvP is literally unplayable now, HR's perm stunlock, Clerics are virtually unkillable, pre-made in every lobby.

not sure if it is because I am not lvl 70 yet, but at least on 61-69 bracket I had no problems against HRs... the game seemed pretty balanced class wise to me...

I love seeing how all the hate is now towards other classes, as it use to be constant spamming of TR hate lol

I'd have to agree, class vs. class is definitely more balanced now. From my experience, the HR is for sure more of a threat, but I'd guess running a GWF they'll be less so for you as you have unstopable to escape the roots/daze effects?

Could also partly be because pre lvl70 few players will gear for pvp, instead waiting till 70 to gear for end game.

The imbalance now feels mostly down to the matchmaking, putting multiple support classes on one team and none on the other etc. Cheap premades, pubstomping for campaign progress, further exacerbate the problem.

I noticed even dps dcs seems more viable now with the end of regen. also, matchmaking would be. without regen anymore, seems a DC on your team now makes a huge difference when the other do not have one

pre-made pvp imo really takes out the fun especially if every1 is well geared, that's why i always try to tell those pvp guilds that i met in domination and gauuntlergym that is much more fun n meaningful if they can win the match with random whether be it 5 vs 5 or 10 vs 10 =)

I find it more meaningful and fun to play with people that I communicate with and interact with and build a relationship with than with people who might as well be AI to me in a pug game. But, that's just me, I like human interaction, connection, teamwork, feelings, friendships, bromance, synergy, cooperation, rapport, community, conflict, conflict resolution, good company, team building, loyalty, and emotions.

All of these which do not happen in pug matches, there is no argument with that.

is true, that's the good thing about pre-made but the original poster was saying how high lv 70 pvp is all pre-made and got to wait for hours if you don't have a pre-made team ready to go and i tend to agree with the poster on this as this game is made to b for fun whether be it in pvp or dungeons or skirmishes. with the current state of pvp players that focus purely on pvp is way much lesser than pve, so i understand where he is coming from especiall if you are in a dead guild...for me i love this game and i love pvp and i'm a team player but all the guilds that my toon is in is dead, so is hard to get a premade, that's why i end up with pug but not all random team is bad tho, sometime u r able to meet those that is really good n know what they r doing without even the need of communication =)
