Not able to log in

I have not been able to log into the game for over 36 hours. On an attempt to log in I receive a message that says connecting to shard which stays up for a few minutes until it goes to the main screen with the Play option greyed out. If it is a maintenance please let those of us affected know. I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere.

    Its really hard keeping my addiction to this game going when most times it takes 10 minutes to get to the character select screen. Load up the game ... Press A , Connecting to account server ........ no dice .. grayed out play button. switch to my wife profile .... connecting to account server .... no dice ... rinse and repeat until i see a gold play button ...

    One of two things will happen ... it'll get fixed or I'll go back to living life like a responsible adult ... lets see who wins
