Question on Transcendent Frostburn....

prettyceltprettycelt Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 777 Arc User
The tooltip on Pure Frostburn armor enchantment states that it has a chance to Disable an attacker's Recovery and Deflect for 4 seconds..

But the Transcendent version says it has a chance to reduce your attacker's Recovery, Deflect, and Power by 35% for 4 seconds...

Is that just poor wording? Shouldn't it be "disables attacker's Recovery and Deflect and reduces their Power by 35%" ? Or is the effect versus their Recovery and Deflect actually worse than Pure's?

On receiving damage you have a 20% chance to deal Frost damage and reducing player attacker's Recovery by 30% or disabling NPCs The damage scales with your level. This effect lasts 4 seconds and can only occur once every 30 seconds.
This is the line from the Perfect Frostburn Enchantment. It says that it reduces the attacker's recovery by 30% OR disabling NPC's. This means that if you are in pvp it will reduce your attackers recovery by 30%. If you are fighting monsters it will disable them, make them not attack for 4 seconds.

Well, going to give you all on here a pro-tip that other PvP players don't want you to know. Frostburn and Frost together especially with other tanks running it will seriously jack up high recovery Rogue and Clerics abilities/perma stealth. If you want to be a 100% Nuisance while fighting them and can take a punch (GWF and Paladin) I would run both of these along with AP/Stamina drain overloads and watch the river of tears flow.

For PvE, it is really, really good, due to the fact that disable mobs that seem to swarm you and hit really hard (ETOS and Wolf's den). These will be the new FoTM enchants coming with SH PvP.

i like frostburn, i have no idea why no one uses it.

Because they to busy drooling over Negation/T. Feytouch's broken affects, right now. Wait until a T. Feytouch/T. Negation meets a T. Frost/T. Frostburn with AP/Stamina drain overloads.

I foresee, once people catch on to this, these two enchants will be 8-12 million on the auction house.

I thought it was because of the ICD.

While we're at discussing weapon enchantments, could somebody explain to me why the Lightning Enchant's effect changes so drastically in terms of functionality?

Pure Lightning deals 28% weapon damage to each target hit and has a 100% chance to chain 3 times, dealing 28% weapon damage with each jump.

Transcendent Lightning deals 7% weapon damage to each target hit and has a 100% chance to chain 3 times, dealing 7% weapon damage with each jump. If you are only hitting 1 target (no chain effect), this lightning damage increases to 33%.

Transcendent Lightning seems to be an overall downgrade to me. Is this a typo or is it really functioning this way?

I only have the normal ones, nothing great/pure/or even transcendent, but on every melee character this far.
I like the frost ones on armor and weapon too.
They're affordable at the moment, and the effect is usefull.

I have both at pure, Frost and Frostburn. But I find them not very great.

This is just a typo. The Transcendent Lightning does 32% of weapon damage and always has. I'll get it corrected.

Does this mean I can disable a single NPC enemy for 4 seconds, once every 30 seconds? If a swarm of adds hits me, one of them will stop attacking for 4 seconds and the rest are unaffected until the enchant is off CD again?

there are alot of Transendent enchantments that are really lackluster, they dont even compete with some other enchants that are at Greater level, especially in pvp.

ex: transendent broonzewood doesnt have a 20s uptime like a T.feytouch.
T.terror doesn't debuff for a full of 40% the POWER and DEFENSE.
    T. Elven is really over powered as i belive it gives too much of a CC resist, and also has weird interraction with Thorned ROOts from Hunter ranger, all the CC immunity in the game , Thorned roots multi proccs on CC immune targets.
    T. Negation is fine right now.
    T. Vorpal is good where it is.
    the others are really weak.
    T. Barkshield
    T. Lifedrinker.
    T. Lighting
    T. frostburn
    T/ fireburst
    T. Briatwine needs a rework.
    T. Plague fire is the same as Terror one.

You left out T Soulforged and didn't actually discuss T Feytouched. I like your analysis.
