The only thing effecting its duration is the feat, "Improved Cunning Sneak", which will extend it to 7.2s.
Dunno if they recently changed it though. Non-sabos like myself or other TRs don't really care about stealth duration anymore. For us non-sabos, it's always only 1~3 at-wills allowed from stealth before it depletes anyway, so stealth for us is a very short temporary defense or repositioning tool.
■ While the duration of base stealth is equal for all, the rate of regeneration is different. Executioner builds have this awesome capability to regenerate stealth, unhindered, within seconds. They can deploy smokebomb, make their attack, and then re-enter stealth within the duration of that 8 seconds of smoke.
■ This allows Executioners a very unique tactical/technical advantage which only a very few, seasoned TR vets really understand just how awesome it is. I don't use it because I have my own method, which is more geared towards offense, but I have tried it extensively. It's a very interesting, fun and effective build to play with.
■ A shame, really. Lazy, fat-arsh Sabos grown accustomed to the no-brainer easy mode are so abundant, that the TR players themselves don't know what a TR can really do.
■ On the flipside, even some of the better players of other classes don't really know what a TR can do these days, because they've only seen Sabos. So in many cases, they're pretty dumbfounded just like any pug/casual player when they fight non-Sabos that actually know how to play it correctly. You cam usually tell by the amount of hate-PMs they send you.

Ruts can be very hard to get out of... especially when you do not have the capacity to allow for changes. I know that we all encounter people like this every day.
Gotta wake up at the right time; enter the shower at the right time; have my clothes laid out the night before; get out the door no later than X; take the same way to work every day; hit Starbucks on the way; grab the same over-priced HAMSTER coffee; start work at exactly the same time; have the same lunch at the same place, at the same time; head home at exactly the same time; eat dinner; rinse and reap-et.
If one thing does not go off as planned, the day is RUINED! If 2 things are not right... worst day ever. It has become a VERY Dilbert world.
I spelled repeat that way for a reason. With out growth and stimuli... human beings die very fast.
As Rene Descartes once said...
"An unobserved life is not worth living."
I hate ruts... and do everything possible to stay out of them.
And people are afraid of the zombie apocalypse... sorry... it is already here.

I've recently admitted to myself that my build quantifies as perma for the simple reason that I use BnS. Incidentally I only use it as an extra dodge, but it's so easy to stay 100% in stealth with a killer regen. Who needs krapy Shadow Strike?!
If the regen multipliers from SoD and TC4 don't actually affect stealth depletion rate, it sure just feels like it. What I do know is they buff Twilight Adept.
I tested a quickie with TC4, my point of comparison being my Lashing Blade fired at the same instant I stealth, in a manner that I end up in stealth and LB goes to cooldown.
LB goes into 19 seconds cooldown Simultaneous Stealth Stealth ends LB has 11 seconds left
Slotted TC4
LB goes into 19 seconds cooldown Simultaneous Stealth Stealth ends LB has 10 seconds left
I'm executioner so my 8 secs is roughly accurate towards kwess' 7.2 with Improved Cunning Sneak. I have no way to tell if that 800ms is an interaction with SoD or not.
So Rustlord I know you are a Wk/Exe and you mention above about regen. Am I correct that you stack regen by gear as I think you have said previously that you don't do intelligence?

I don't stack recovery since I have enough AP gain and my main attack rotation practically has no cooldown. When I say regen, I mean to say stealth regeneration. I get this from Executioner Capstone and Tenacious Concealment. This bonus is net 35% and applies to my dodgerolls, so that Twilight Adept restores 13.5% of my stealth. Sometimes when I say regen I also mean my stamina regeneration which I have at 75%.
Stamina converts to dodge and dodge converts to stealth. I rarely have to use BnS to replenish my stealth.

The main reason I play WK is Disheartening Strike. At 35K Power (feat Shadowborn 2x Power) it bleeds hard! Add Shadow of Demise (proc by VP knife throw) this is essentially my version of CoS/SO spam while I get to stay in stealth all the time.
