Cant seem to equip enchanments

Fairly new to Neverwinter Xbox1. Have level 24 Wizard. Am able to refine several gems but it seems I cant equip any of them to my character even though my equipment has available slots. I have been able to equip my companion with them. Can someone please help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I guess the only other tip I would hope someone cane help with is the place where I could buy enchantments. Thanks in advance.

    From inventory or equipment tab on character sheet, select item, press A for options, from options menu select Manage Item Enchantments. Select the enchantment slot, press A, then pick the enchantment you want to add from the pop up screen.

    Enchantments (Dark / Azure / Silvery, etc) only can go into YOUR equipment. Runestones (Eldritch, etc) can only go into Companions. I'd guess you're trying to put a Runestone into your equipment.

    That must be it. Must be a runestone. Thanks. At level 24 shouldn't I have come across an enchantment already? Where do I find them other than drops or the auction?

    mob deaths, skill nodes and treasure chests all can have enchantments. Don't bother with the rank 1-3's. Rank 4's go for a couple hundred AD in the auction house. Rank 5's can be about 1k AD (Draconic Enchantments hover just over 1k). These Rank 5s drop only from chests in epic shores and epic lostmouth. Until you get to Rothe Valley, don't bother looting the stones... they're just not worth taking up the inventory space.

    I just make to make this clearer. The capitalized YOUR may confuse some players.

    While enchantments can only go into equipment, that includes equipment placed on companions not just your character.

    There's also a low level quest to complete which is like an 'enchantments primer' and rewards an enchantment. You complete it in a shop in Protector's (same shop as you return to later for the artifact quest, can't remember the name though).

    Thanks vdeekv. New to this type of game so I still have loads to learn. Was also hoping you folks could guide me on where to join a guild. Is it done through forums like this? Seems strange just to walk up to someone in the game and say can I join your guild. I'm a level 25 CW. Thanks again for all the input from everyone.
