Icewind Dale mobs still needs hit points reduced !!!

soltaswordsoltasword Member Posts: 290 Arc User
So I am a OP and just went to Icewind Dale to try out this new patch and the supposedly lower hit points of the mobs over there. If you lowered the mobs hit points, I sure didn't notice it. Not one bit. Either you still need to rethink how many hit points the mobs have there or you need to seriously buff the damage the OP can dish out. I for one do not remotely have the kind of time needed to finish 1 quest over there let alone 3 quests. Seriously it took like 4 minutes to kill 1 bear and I have to kill 8 of them. I don't need to kill the bear in 3 seconds but the kind of time it takes even after the patch still is just ridiculous. I don't have the best equipment out there but my OP is pretty decent but Icewind Dale and I am sure Well of Dragons are still off limits for me. Not because I can't survive but because it takes entirely too long to accomplish anything. Either because everything has to many hit points or the damage I can do is just way to low. I have avoided going over there for this very reason and thought maybe it would be different with the new reductions you said you did, but it's not.

what level is your OP, and what gear do you have on your support class?

They have reduced the hp of the mobs as i regularly solo there and find it considerably faster and easier now -but I'm DPS and rely on killing fast to avoid death. You, on the other hand, are a support class, so killing is naturally going to be much slower without aid.

I go there on my Lvl 70 GF and get bored quick, not because she can't kill them, but because it takes so much longer.

Agreed.. YOU'RE AN OP... If you want to kill faster... build a TR or GWF. My OP only has 9k power, 4.5k Crit and 2.2k Armor Pen and it takes time to solo, twice the time (if not more) then other classes BUT... I am a SUPPORT class and I do not EVER expect to 1,2, 3 or even 4 shot ANYTHING. But we can hold our own when others are falling, that is the Trade off so get use to it.

Are you sure you know what you are doing?

My advice: Take no counsel from this guy...

    ...unless he's Dev Light, maybe...

Do I know what I am doing?? Meaning what? I run eCC daily and my Average Damage output is around 20 million.. and I am usually 3rd on the list on my team of guild runs (SW 144 Million - GWF 60 Million) SO... what is your point? My damage out put is pretty good for a OP in all Alliance Gear and Rank 7's.

My Advice: Think before you speak. TY

Now go and solo IwD that way. Pala BO magic doesn't help there, and that's what I understood the opening question was aimed at. It'll be somewhat tedious with 2.2 ArPen. Party-Pally is all nice and well, and terribly impressive in a party, but...

...some people want to go their own way once in a while, and even with a Paladin this is quite possible. Though ofc some people feel so cuddly well among their peers that they don*t ever try...

I know the OP is a support class and doesn't do amazing dps like the dps classes do and survivability isn't an issue over there either. It is the amount of time it takes just to kill 1 mob that is the issue. I don't mind grouping for dungeons and HE's but everything else, I just want to solo. But I would like to do it in a reasonable amount of time. Do I want the OP class to be op, no I don't. But you know what would be nice is to get my 1 ( you know, Divine Judgement ) skill back that did any real damage that got nerfed because of pvp or at least buff the base damage of all my other skills to compensate for taking away the only skill the class had that did any sort of real damage. Either that or they still need to lower the hit points of the mobs there so every class can do it in a reasonable amount of time. I am not fighting bosses over there, just landscape mobs which shouldn't take as long as it does for any class in the game.
And as far as my set up goes, if it didn't take so much RP to level everything up, I would probably be doing a lot better. Sadly, I don't have a money tree growing in my back yard to buy all the necessary RP needed to level up my gear nor the kind of time needed to grind for it. Being a vip might help a bit if I get items out of the loot boxes to make AD on. But it all takes time.
Taking away the hit points they added a few weeks back did a good job for the dps classes but really didn't help the non dps classes much. Maybe when mod 8 comes out, they can make the old campaign zones a little more solo freindly for non dps classes as well. So we don't have to try and find a uber dps class to help us kill stuff there in any reasonable amount of time.
I like to run the landscape solo, what is wrong with that. Dungeons and HE's are for groups and I enjoy that. Landscape should be semi easy ( fun ) for everyone. Not a chore, and it is still a chore for non uber dps classes.

devs only did work on those elemental evil's "Vig Zones" mobs to be a little easier, but they hadnt done that much for Icewind, Dread Ring, Sharandar, or even Well of Dragons, mobs still hit hard and unbalanced, if they did "fixed", but i call it a fake, a joke, a scam, and do i need to add more? it is very frustrating to stay alive, all the mobs do, is flanking.
other class got better "AoE" than GF class that i played, what they got for AoE was the mass taunting and not enough damages, remember, Devs nerfed in-combat regeneration for tanks. it was only way it get heals if DC are busy healing others or healer got knock out when tanks are being outflanked.

True...your damage is pretty good for an OP...but your GWF need some advices if he makes only 60mio. Sure the SW ( i guess) is a puppet master, but 60 mio for a GWF? I think he need some advices ^^.

    BTT:

They reduced the HPs in IWD. Sure they did. But they still tough. If you wanna do it faster, do it in a grp and thats it. Problem solved.

Mobs in IWD have not been an issue for my OP tank before or after patch. If you are having problems., you need to look at your spec and not blame the environment. All specs can do IWD, it is all about how you spec it which will function in both open pve and dungeons.

His issue is not that it isn't doable, it's how long it takes us versus the high dps classes. It's like low dmg tanks are being penalized because other classes can kill the mobs so fast. I have no problem solo'ing in zones, it just takes a long time. I'm fine with that personally though as that's the tradeoff I pay for not having to worry about dying...
