  Yes, with a successful upgrade Coalescent Wards ARE used up. The preservation wards stick around though.
  
  Edit: I said successful upgrade with a C Ward. C Wards always have a 100% upgrade, so you will always loose them when you use them

  Ridiculously expensive aren't they. You can actually buy one from the tramulane bar merchant for 200 bars, worth a thought if you have any lying around.

  Also, keep in mind if you buy them with trade bars they are account bound, whilst the zen market ones arent.

  I've gotten two from the Coffer of Wondrous Augmentation from the vault of piety. Odds are extremely low, though. That's with seven characters getting one coffer per week each for a long time, now.
