Cryptic - Blocking the Advertisers

The advertising in Zone & Trade in Protectors Enclave is getting worse. I've noticed they now use more than 1 XBox per site so business must be good...

Banning the Accounts does not work as they setup new ones each day.
I appreciate the word blocking / account banning based on website mentioning but of course they now use character combos to get around this.

As each XBox has a unique Device ID that is separate to the Profile (which gets blocked) is it not possible for admins to record the Device ID and for Cryptic/PWE to report them to Microsoft to have the device itself bricked?

Once they start losing the machines it will very quickly become too expensive for them.

Of course this means staff at Cryptic will need to police Protectors Enclave to record the gamertags of those bypassing the word block to trace the Device ID.

Could I also suggest a proper in game 'REPORT' option under names in chat instead of going via xbox so logs go to the dev team.

What I would like to see is the removal of the up arrow. Make everyone have to type in the line. No repeating the last line allowed. Also, add a delay between messages that you can send, like must be 2 seconds between them. The adbots are annoying, but so is that guy advertising his guild and spamming it 3 times in a row or the ones that have 3 lines of # , a short message, then another 3 lines of #. Make them type that out each time. It'll reduce some of the spam problem anyhow.

Please put an employee monitoring the chat for these spammers full time for a while. Fix it right up.

Aren't they able to ban the IP addresses?
I doubt they would get another wifi router every time they get banned

The IP will be on dhcp so will change, better to target the console itself I think.

Once again, Neverwinter/PWE amazes me with a problem that i've never encountered on console before - ever. This is another thing that should be taken care of quicker. Jesus crist, this is so silly.
Give me the authority to ban/erase/block all these spammers/scammers and i'll make them get tired and go away quicker than quick.
Better yet. The "report" feature only works sometimes.

I love this suggestion. It would help to clean up zone chat too, where you never ever see a message said once - everything is spammed 3 times in a row, making it easy to miss important stuff (such as private messages).

You can always turn of Zone and Trade Channels when you are not using them.

I had previously made the Social Tab purely for (SAY) and (GUILD). (Say) just for Tiamat runs. It has helped a ton. But occasionally I tab over to the default tab and see nothing but website spam lol. If I need to trade or anything else, I go to another area, mostly WoD, and I have personally not ran into spam in WoD.

no up arrow so type in every time yes
remove all symbols and punctuation from messages
remove all padding spaces and repetitive elements
filter out anything that looks anything like a website address

You have 3 chat box`s that you can personalize, this really is not much of an issue any more. Yes it is annoying as hell but turn off trade and zone in one of the chat boxes and hey presto no more spam

But I actually do agree it would be good to get rid of the spammers completely.

People are stuck on the "up arrow" idea. Which would solve some of the problem, but you guys are forgetting about the Xbox app, AND smart glass....it's is very easy to just "CTRL+V" into to chat box and then press A to send it on the console. This would only moderately fix the problem for about an hour.

Which goes back to my suggestion of tracing the device ID and having microsoft brick the console.

As I suggested in another post. Just implement the ability to first use the trade channel with level 45 and every other channel with 30. furthermore only 150 letters excluding connected items and this should pretty much force them to relevel everyday to 45, which ist far more annoying than level 15 right now. ( at least that's the level all of them seem to have)
