Campaign Keys

So are campaign keys worth the cost? I don't remember the names of them right now but I'm talking about the keys you make from the campaign tree that allow you to open up an additional chest from eLoL or the chest after tiamet.

I have yet to try them... at the cost of 20k AD and the other currencies... just... ouch.

    imo, nope. the artifacts now sell for 10k AD. The draconic templar arms sell for 8k. the dragon queen book sells for 15k.

    Make one key, open the box, if there's nothing good close the box and you're key isn't wasted.

    Buy legendary dragon keys.

    You get 5 for 300 zen (do the diamond conversion - @ 300 diamonds / zen that would = 90K for 5 keys = 18K each. Still cheaper than the campaign keys (which cost 20K diamonds), work the same, and have no delay or other material costs. We are a long way from 300 diamonds/zen so the legendary dragon keys are even better ;P

    Am I missing something major or are these campaign keys really that silly?

    It's silly that I don't believe it possible to get 20k AD worth of stuff out of it. Its a no win proposition. Don't buy 5 keys. Make one to minimize investment.

    You will need two of the books for the new boons, and those are worth 15k each. Right there you have made back your 20k with 3 keys to spare.

    No.....basic math shows that it is much cheaper to just buy the key pack from the zen store (you don't need real money to pull this off either). My last key pack has lasted me two months between shores, LoL, and now Tiamat. Those chests are worthless (and/or my luck really sux)

    Keys from the Zen Store seem much more worth buying than making them from the campaign. After all, those 5 keys for 300 Zen open the chest in Lostmauth, Shores and Tiamat, while the ones from the campaign, I'm sure, have different keys for each, which means waiting something like 20 hours and spending 20k (perhaps more) AD's on each ONE key.

    Just open the chest to see what's inside, if you don't like it, leave it and head out the dungeon/skirmish/raid and save your key for something worth it.

    I spent my 20k key on anitem that melts for 8k AD. When I checked the market to see what they were going for there, there were many selling for 7k AD. Lost on the key... Made up on senseless price cutting!

    You don't HAVE to take the loot from the chest. If unsure, back out of the chest and check the AH price.

    I have yet to find anything in either SoT or LoL that merits using the keys that I made for each one, and I bought some zen keys for Tiamat (which also has not yet yielded anything of interest to me) to avoid burning my Linu's Favor until after I have my cloak.

    It's disappointing, sure, but I am not out anything, yet, because I didn't take the one "good" drop (an HV set piece) due to it being currently worth less than 20k.

    I've done scores of SoT (not epic) runs and have received 3 Haarl books worth over 100k each and 2 gems with the mystic key. So spending 10k AD and campaign has been a great investment.

    Does the bag drop in the chest in Tiamat? If so, the key is well worth it. If you don't have a key, you can't look.
    I'd reccomend getting the 5 keys/300 zen off the market though.

    bag didn't come in chest for me. Mostly see t2 gear in there.
