Is the Companion Pig from the Summer Festival Supposed to be Bound?

So I just saved up the petals to buy the Summer event companion because I noticed it was selling for an okay price on the Auction House. I just bought it and have not equipped it or anything and it is bound to my character. What am I missing here? How did other players get unbound pigs to sell?

    Yes, the one you can buy for petals is bound to character.

    Those in the auction house are prizes from the challenges (Water Bombs, chasing chickens, killing trolls) where you can get one at first place.

    Thanks very much. I wasn't aware you could get the companion as a challenge prize. It's just too bad it's not account bound when you buy it.

    It is similar to other event such as CTA. You can get a companion from the trader/quest giver which is bound. You can also get a bound on Equip companion which is a random drop in the skirmish.
