I am VERY tempted to respec my preview main as a MI Scoundrel and start playing with it. Or maybe keep #3 as MI Exec and add a #4 and change him to MI Scoundrel.
I am bound and determined to make this damned thing work.
BTW... I have chosen MI because honestly a lot of the feats are boosting MI powers.
Thoughts...

each slow proc grants 25% bonus damage
@demonmonger this build was fun as hell to play with. I ignored any kind of ranged attacks other than Whirlwind of Blades, but that is more of a shotgun blast, and ran SF and DF as At-wills, Dazing, Smoke and LB as Encounters. I am still trying to figure which of the other dailies would work best for the build.
It is a build where I will stealth 2 to 3 times max during a 1 minute fight. It is a smsh you in the teeth bar-room brawler build.
I liked it. My deflect is high enough to avoid a ton of damage while surrounded by mobs...
I did this build on the preview server. I could write it down and send it to you in game... on the regular server. I am don't want to post it in here yet, if at all. I like being a one of a kind... lol. Honestly... the build is VERY instinctual... but I guess as you said you are not very familiar with TRs... that wont work.
I do hesitate on sharing the build... because I see that it may need some fine tuning. I am wondering how much better my current server set up with that build would work. I just picked up the Horn of Lostmauth. I will switch this version of my main over.
I appreciate the help. I will keep it to myself.
It's just that after the stupid, thoughtless nerf, it doesn't have anything to really declare itself as a path that's different from others.
Sabos are the most powerful in PvP, they have permastealth = best defenses, they have the easiest method of attack as well as pure bullsheet damage buffs = best offense, and they can freely use their SS for a 4-sec daze, as well as their Dazing Strike is the same as any other TR = good CCs.
Executioners have some powerful bursts, they also have good means to induce higher sustained damage,.. and the most defining feature of Execs as of mod6 is their ability to restealth the fastest without hinderance.
...
Scoundrels... let's see.. what does the Scoundrel have....
Highest damage? Nope. Easy and comfortable offense? Hardly -- requires precision combos and intuitive combat management. Best in defense? Not in terms of stealth. In terms of DR just a meager 10% higher than other TRs. Lifesteal-associated feats are garbage, Concussive Strikes are like micro-lag in PvP, marginally higher deflection as you enter stealth (...at which point you are safe already), or when you're about to die (under 30% HP)...
So is the CC aspect the defining feature of SCs? Nope. Nerfed. Skull Cracker is now even shorter than base Dazing Strike which lasts 4 seconds...
So just what is the Scoundrel supposed to be? Currently, I have no idea.
If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'
Over zealous and poorly considered nerfs in addition to feats that have become devalued from changes in the core game mechanics.
My rotation has been a stealthed Dazing Strike to open... which hits target and close "friends". Then I drop Smoke while using SF and DF and an occasional stealthed Lashing Blade.
The smoke does 25% more damage, due to the prolonged CC of Dazing. As does any damage dished out during the rest of the smoke time. By then Dazing is ready, so I have been hitting the spell caster, or healer. A few seconds of focus on them with DF and SF will be followed with more a stealthed Smoke or Lashing Blade. By the time this has been happening... out of the 5 targets one of them is still alive, but barely.
It's a h3lluva mocking tool, though... like when you meet a particularly cocky TR player, or any other person who needs a lesson in modesty, and then you go kill him, he flares up and starts ranting how I'm a skill-less perma dweeeb... then I can tell him;
"Dude, you've been beaten by a;non-permastealth, non-sabo, non-1shot damage, non-MI, non-Lostmauth set, non-WoE, non-SigilOfDivine, non-BiS item level TR... what are you complaining about? You just suck!"
If you know something to be broken, stop using it.

I need to make that a macro...LMAO... though I will have to remove the Lostmauth part. @sabre10 you will have to send me instruction on how to do that.
Agree to that
Will do, next time i see you on
I am wondering how this build would work on a TR in stealth. Would Path of Blades deliver the concussive strikes as well? I would believe so... so then even CoS, DHS and any other attack would do the same thing. Just thinking out loud here.
I am realizing, the more I play this build, that it is all about the AoE, DoT and CC. Last night I handled 12 mobs 3 of which were from a minor HE on the AH map. Damned priestess aggro'd the world last night and I had to clean up her mess... lol. I was even able to take down most of the Homestead Assault mobs... but ran out of time.
I am also experimenting with a Wk Scoundrel build as well. It seems equally viable. Granted on a single target I may have to switch out some things. Or just handle the adds... lol.
I sent you a forum pm and an in game PM... not sure if either will get to you. Let me know if they do.
Sab have the best sustained dps. Exe is good only for KSing targets under 30% of max HP. SO proc after the nerf is nearly worthless, since it have a hard cap based on weapon dmg.
Imo if anybody wants to play Sco you should take WK, because you can get 20% dmg reduction for 8s after leaving stealth, from melee and ranged attacks with AP passive + Off hand.
I am working on the dynamics of both MI and WK ATM. Since I have only been playing with them for a few days.. I will start dabbling in a little bit.
I did get your forum PM. Thanks again. I will let you know how it works out.
