I have played SCA on Gateway for the last 3 days... doing about 5 or 6 runs a day.

For those that say that Cryptic did not nerf the Companion Gear drops... I got news for you... unless this a Bug.

1 Companion gear drop in the last 3 days out of a minimum of of 18 runs. If that is not a nerf... it is a Bug. Either way... not worth playing SCA anymore. Gold, a minimum of AD, low level gear for running the lvl 6 epic dungeon.

Last week I collected 7 pieces of companion gear in 3 days... with less runs per day.

    Yup, yup, yup.

    I guess we don't need those anymore. Too bad I did not hold onto more of them. I have 7 or 8 sitting in my shared bank.

    Well, I got a Ring of the Loyal Avenger and a Lightfoot Thief yesterday, so the drop rate for the best stuff has obviously gone way up!

    ...or random is random.

    Although the drop rate for companion gear was clearly nerfed compared to that at the very beginning of Mod 6.

    I have been fighting through level 6, up to 10 times a day with zero Thief drops... since M6 went live.

    You also open the Treasure Chest Task? There can be also a Companion Gear drop in it not only the boss fight.

    The drops from SCA are easily verified through their price/amount on AH. Sure, they may not rise after 1-2 days since claimed "undocumented nerf" however if now you get 1 random companion gear/18 runs compared to 7 items/~12 runs (I took the worst case scenario) - the price should skyrocket. However it has been almost a week and they havent changed a bit = if anything happened it happened just to you

    Maybe it has a similar mechanic as the dragon hoard enchantments? That at a certain point it drops a lot less stuff?

    I actually believe that people were farming SCA for the gear. I am sure that some of these people have 100's of them stashed away. THAT, is the reason that the price has not gone up.

    All told I have either sold, equipped or stashed over 100 of these items... since they started dropping 2 months ago. It is not difficult to believe that someone with 4 blue or higher companions would not harness SCA as a means to make AD.

    I have said it before... when you shut off 90% of the ways to make AD... people will create a situation that can and will destroy the in game economy. The fact that the Avenger rings sell for 500k AD... minimum and some of the sword knots sell for hundreds of AD... says a lot to the trained eye.

    I did not do SCA but I do look at Loyal Avenger ring in AH. Yesterday morning, there were about 8 rings with the lowest price over 521K. In the evening, there were about 30 rings with the lowest price 475K. I take that as somebody did get some "fresh" rings from SCA unless these ring stashers sell one ring at a time everyday.

    Rings are more in need as other items because almost every augment companion need at least one ring. Some need two and i think i saw one with three rings.

    Black Dragon Ioun stone has 3 rings.

    And i forgot to mention ring drops in general seem pretty rare i did already sever hundreds SCA Runs and got like 4-5 avenger rings and only a couple of other ring typea out of the process while i am spammed with swordknots, talisman, icons, etc.

    The Avenger rings are the rarest of the drops... rings in general are rare drops. That to me speaks more of hoarding, buying cheap and selling big. Out of all of the drops I have gotten... I have been lucky to get 3 Avenger rings. I sold 2 of them for under 500k and I have the last one on my Leprechaun.

    What is being sold and what is dropping from SCA are 2 different things. The gear used to drop 4 and 5 per run when they were introduced... now they drop 1 in maybe 7 runs. I doubt that it is just my bad luck with RNGesus.

    Maybe it was toned down or the overall drop chance is calculated on the overal drop of this specific gear and some people already developed somekind of Bot to farm 24/7 the gwar from SCA leading to an overall minimal drop chance for average playera. But this is pure speculation from me.

    I have gotten 4 or 5 per run, that was over a month ago. If anyone says that NOW they are getting 2 or 3 per run... they are lying.

    Bad luck. I ran it 3 times in the last week and got 3 different pet gear items.

    That is still a lot lower than 4 or 5 per run.

    FYI, it took me about 350 runs to get the Lightfoot Thief companion.

    And sometimes I noticed the companion gear drops were worse at some times than others. But one way to increase the odds is to open all chests you encounter. There were a few times I got a companion gear item from a chest and at the boss battle at the end of the SAME run. :)

    I remember you saying that about the Lightfoot... I open every chest. That is one of the responsibilities of my Jagged Blade or Wererat. It is rare that I leave any dungeon with a minimum of 15 items in the treasure drop. I tend to clear about 80 to 85% of all the rooms, just in case.

    The gear drops have gotten progressively less and less... not matter when or which dungeons I run.
