If you are a tanking most will tell you to use Terror, with Plaguefire being a decent alternative. I personally would also consider Holy Avenger, for thematic reasons, not to mention the proc would be more likely to happen with you as a tank.

As far as devotion goes, I can't answer that for you, you would have to find out from someone else.

As a tank I use Terror. On my Devotion OP I use Plaguefire (constant proc) - though there are many suggestions of great enchantments the reason I use Terror on my Tank (Protection Paladin) is because DPS is sucky (I'm running Bulwark branch on it) and the Terror helps speed that up just a teensy bit.

In general, plague fire would probably help more since also does a base weapon damage hit and then a DoT for weapon damage over 3 seconds that stacks up to 3 times, not to mention the debuff. So as an example, with a Perfect Terror you deal 15% extra weapon damage and debuff the target defense by 40%. On the other hand, a Perfect Plague Fire deals a base of 10% extra weapon damage and up to an additional 12% weapon damage in a 3 second DoT, plus 45% defense reduction on the target with 3 stacks. It's marginal in the end, so boils down to if you want an immediate hit versus something you get over time.

None of the enchants is worth using tbh (at least if you take in to consideration how much they cost). Most players will have enough Armor pen on their own to do full dmg in pve, so your Terror or Plague fire wont make any difference.

A misconception with it I believe, since I had a long conversation last night from people that claiming it only worked when using your encounters, which is false. This misconcepton is that the enchant says powers, but powers describes every ability you have, which means, at-wills, encounters, dailies, etc.

The other factor is for those that prefer PvP and their damage straight up. As Plague Fire is a bit of a ramp up, versus terror which is pretty much ready.

Precisely. As a super-tank DPS is pathetic, so I don't want any DoT, I want it NAO. :)

Shillaen, I like lightning, been running it since mod 6 started and it works well for the pally in my opinion. It allows you to build a lot of threat at the start of an encounter with it chaining, it will give you a lot of kills in the dungeon which will proc winter's bounty if you have it in your boons. Does very good damage for solo play if your pally is spec'd for alot of aoe's.

And best of all, nobody else wants to use it so the prices of them aren't terrible.

I'm wearing Thunderhead and terror ( both trans )
it's working very well on pvp ( be carefull of thunderhead there are some involontary interaction vs oppoment )
I'm not sure it's the best for pve, i think negation would be better for it as long as your dot arent really helpfull against high lvl mobs

Anyway, if you go for lot of dot, choosing the right aura and boons on tree will be more effective than any enchant.

hi kodiak, but i read in the tool tip ...the T.lightning do 7% weap dmg? is the tool tip wrong? because pure one is stronger....do you wear T.lightning?
    thanks

The description for the Trans. Lightning is mislabeled, it actually does 32/33% on chain and 33% when there are no chains available.
