Potions....

Why are they even an option in PvP..? The notion of them is ridiculous. If your low on health and can't get to an arena potion then your dead.. and should be.. with soul forges, the potions in the arena, healing classes, the game can lack speed as it is..

    It's a little frustrating spending minutes on killing a rogue and then he runs off and goes invisible only to come back with full health having taken a potion, or four. I've never bought them, I use the potions provided on the map or a healer.

    I had a guy in my guild tell me he refused to use potions in PvP bc he considered that to be P2W and he wasn't going to pay to win. I told him that was the dumbest thing I've heard so far in this game. I will not PvP with him ever again bc of that one statement and we now have a running joke about potions being pay to win.

    You can get 20 potions for ~300 glory (not exactly sure off the top of my head). The potions are very cheap. Other players are and will use them. If you are not using potions then you are putting yourself at a disadvantage. PvP is where you need every advantage you can get. If you aren't willing to use potions then you shouldn't play PvP. It really is that simple.

    I use potions and waters, the 2 minute cooldown on potions means you cant spam them but if your unwilling to spent 15 glory on one then its your own fault if you die or if the enemy caps your point cos you had to run off to find a heal.

    I fail to see how potions that are gained with in game glory are "pay to win", anyway that's not the point at all. What I'm saying is they shouldn't even be an option what so ever... PvP matches are long enough now.. just taking potions out would speed things up anyway.

    I'm not saying it's my fault for dying... or anyone else's... I'm also well aware of the PvP mechanics, hence why I think potions should not even be an option. Like I said in my OP, you have lifesteal, Regen, Healing classes, soulforge and potions provided for you in the arena.. why lengthen PvP matches any longer?

    You may not be saying its your fault for dying if your not using healing potions but I am.
    And if you think not have healing potions would make battles any shorter then go try out Smite. Yes that game has healing potion but the example is due to peope probing and with drawing between points and battles only being won or advantanced once the enemy team is on respawn from a wipe and as such cant do anything.
    Add in broken map potions and what you want is people to regen out of combat or heal as a percentage of their damage... So essentially tanks have to hide to heal or not play PvP and the waters artifact will be the only one anyone uses and as such rogues with rule unchecked as people will have to run waters for heals instead of potions and lanterns.

    No, potions should exist. Long battles are best as burst fights are usually won by who got the drop and not whose the better player. Just use potions and stop being cheap.

    If you don't use pots your gimping yourself. Besides a few classes have the ability to heal themselfs, the classes that do not are at a serious disadvantage. I'm constantly grabbing the pots/using my own in a match. It's the only way to consitantly cap/contest nodes effectivly.

    If a match is close and I just capped 2 with sub ~5k hp left, how effective will I be going to contest 1/3? Not very, now if I pop a pot and grab another going up I'll be back to fighting fit and will be able to contest/capture wayyy better than with 1/6th my regular health.

    It's not cheap nor gamebreaking, it's a necessity.

    No time to grab pots when game is neck and neck. Ur a HR i presume, you should have no problem stomping out someone popping a potion. Not using them yourself to beat your opponent is your loss. And neverwinter has some of the fastest PvP matches in MMOs. U want fast.... Call of Duty
