Giving a belt or cloak out of mercy

I love killing dragons.....or are they heralds. What's the difference? Anyway, I have killed dozens a day since I got the invitation to the Well of Dragons. In all that time, I only got a girdle of strength drop....not even new gear. What I would like to see is a token drop from each Herald kill or two if a great success that can be traded for an artifact after X amount of tokens... this way the RNG doesn't make me give up on the game considering the effort I put in.

Done so many, I can walk across the map with my eyes closed.
Huh....I thought Ballsdeep was a location in Lord of the Rings.

    I've slain hundreds of dragons but so far no artifact belt has dropped ever. Do you say that I should slay more in the Well of Dragons? Do they really drop artifact belts?

    They drop both the old and the new. I've gotten 2 so far. It's all RNG man.

    I feel your pain.

    My wife - Trickster Rogue - In 2 nights of us running through the HE's in the Well she has gotten 4 Artifact Cloaks and countless Epic items

    My Son - Trickster Rogue - on 3 separate nights of running through HE's in the Well he has gotten 5 Artifacts - Belts and/or Cloaks and various Epic Items

    Me - Devoted Cleric - Ran with them every time - Zero Artifacts... Ever, however I have gotten quite a few Epic items

    RNG is the Devil and I agree it would be nice to receive tokens instead of drops. Heck take out loot drops all together in Dungeons too and only give Tokens for killing bosses. Solve multiple problems there... VTK I am looking at you LOL

    The :05 and :25 minute HEs have a better chance for dropping an artifact I believe, or maybe it is just because there aren't so many other players competing for it.

    I would have to agree with this and the mini HE's. Either because their are fewer people or you have more opportunities as you can run around the map and hit multiples back to back (with the Mini HE's)

    With the exception of a green lathander belt, every artifact I have gotten in WoD has dropped from the :05 & :25, two from the Motes of Midnight one and one from the Raising Hell

    So far I have 0 artifact items maybe 5 epic items. Lots and lots of rare items though. Also since the thread about cloaks dropping from the HE's I have been farming them and my drops are even worse. Nothing but scrolls and potions even though I have a great success on most of them.

    I bought my artifact belt.

    i've had about 8 artifact belts from WoD, best way of getting them that i've found is letting the HE's stack up to around 20 before a dragon run then opening them all afterwards, this is just random theory but its worked well for me so far, plus i got three belts at once because of it.

    Are the drops random? Or is there a damage counter or something like this in the background?

    That's weird. The only things that the dragons drop when I fight them are servers, connections, and clients.
