I've done almost the entirety of the basic game missions (haven't unlocked Well Of Dragons yet) and have yet to tackle a dungeon because I don't want to start and then have to bail on the rest of the group. How long does the typical dungeon run take to complete? I am using a level 60 Hunter Ranger.

I know this is too late for you, unless you also play an alt. You should play the normal version of each dungeon during the leveling up process. The players will be around your level and you will be exposed to each dungeon's layout and boss location. When you hit the Epics, you will be better prepared. Just doing the Rhix dailies as you level will expose you to many of them and earn AD.
I'm surprised you ignored your Red dungeon (group) quests that specifically ask you to complete the normal version of each dungeon while leveling.
Cloak tower is short. Castle never, never ends. It's a difficult question to answer. Experiencing them yourself would be best. Besides if you bail, the matchmaking will replace you rather quickly
One thing I would advise is that (as HR) you run with a melee or healer companion, as a lot of the end boss battles involve mob rushes that can catch you out if you can't keep your distance (as regardless of build, ranged stance always seems to work out stronger for most).
Before I was able to get an Ioun Stone I ran dungeons with a healer companion almost every time. For an HR trapper build tough you should be switching stances constantly. Fox Cunning will help you dodge 1 hit kills and Fox Shift will speed your movement rate up while slowing the mob down as well as dealing a lot of damage.
