when a 4.1k SW gets out damaged by GWF, TR, and a CW with the same ilvl nearly 2x what the SW can dish out? why even bring one along? should i just shelve this class and start a new one instead?

ive seen many sw;s outdamage cw's of equal gear. gwfs and trs are really good at damage. you must be playing wrong.

Let's just make it clear that the 'Good SWs' with 'good damage'

are the ones using the damnation exploit, someone not playing with the exploit will have 2 or 3 times less than any equally geared good GWF, and much less than any good other DPS

Run ACT logs and watch these warlocks have 80% of their damage from wraith claw with spikes of 3 million damage per hit, you'll understand

It is my my life style, my doctrine and my state of mind,
You fight well, but without focus and discipline, you will fall.

im running HB Fury. no im not playing wrong lol im doing as much as much as my class can offer. no exploits.

SB fury can´t compete in most cases against TR or GWF, thats true,
but you can play SB fury and you will deal good damage, in some fights more than other classes, especially T2 endbosses im, if you
1. max ap gain and spam TT
2. use Soul Scorch effectivly by having high crit and combine it with TT

atm i play SB damnation since one week and its redicules in some dungeons how much damage they deal,
but the tree even works well in T1 dungeon, here your Puppet deals >100k hits mediocre geared
if you max AP gain , go crit and use immolation spirits effectively you can nearly have them active 75% of the fight, and they deal lots of damage, much more than my encounter DT, WB, and even Soul Scorch
I do not know if they only work that way with damnation tree but will find out after next respec

so my next "legal build" will be definitely SB-fury with 10 points in damnation for sparkbinder
and if there are lots of GWF and TR that outdamage me two times i would be very surprised
--> always take into account , that these classes also use broken mechanics, like lots of other classes too and wear in 90% lol-set that deals up to 25% of their overall damage---broken

Dude, that is such BS. Show us. Dont come in here and say that HAMSTER unless you can provide a link to show us. My CW with NO ENCHANTMENTS, level 60 gear (On a level 70) and blue level 60 artifacts can outdamage my SW in rank 9s, level 70 Burning gear with all legendary artifacts and artifact weapons.

Sorry for the hostility Blackwolf, but hearing that just frosts my @#! to no end. There is no truth to that statement whatsoever.

ogarious - don't be silly. If you want to see some true warlock power catch me in game - Fernu Stormborn@fernuu. We can do some T2 run and I'll show you how efficient SW can be in mod6.

Interesting thread. I've seen SWs do insane burst damage. in PVP, more than good geared CW and much more than my archery HR. Most of them were damnation SB.

Not all SWs are 3.5k+ with extremely high crit chance. Also, bugged puppet damage.

Of course no one sees what's wrong with this picture. Majority of powers severely underpowered, leaving just 2 viable builds. Fury depending mainly on TT, and Fury for wonky puppets. Is it fair that a GWF only need to spam at-wills to vaporize everything in sight while SWs are stuck in a tight spot?

Fury builds are still decent - I have furylock in guild and sometimes he outdps me. And yet - of course not all are 3.5k, but every char when compared 2.0k and 3.5k will be weaker in each class... that how it works.

Warlock was always about TT and will always be about TT (especially when AD set is out). Even templock is about TT. Still - SW is one of the best bosskillers where TT isnt used at all.

What is the point in playing or having a SW in party.

- the SW has good damage output, not the best but reasonably good
- 12% damage boost to the whole party when you use Dreadtheft
- 20% power and movement speed bonus to the whole party when you do life steal

my warlock is 2,6k and I outdamage a >4k TR at endboss eTOS, since respec from SB fury to damnation

running T2 i outdamage every equal geared class 3 times (except GWF), same running shores or Kessel
running elol its also far beyond "weak" in case I deal the double damage of a 3k CW !
My char is not focussed on PVE with boons and feats but fucussed on crit >9k because its the best way to max spark generation + p Vorp
I use TT on mob groups and immolation spirits on singel target
feat dust to dust+all consuming curse (mobs) borrowed time+all cons curse/shadow slip (endboss)
encounter WB +DT + SoulScorch (allways the same)
I use DC sigil AP cloak and feats to recharge faster
AP regeneration+crit is the key to perform best

I know this tree is somehow broken, but I don´t mind because:
1. its fun even running dailies/solo having a puppet+spirits+a compagnion if I want
2. it performs ok in PVP, better than my last spec
3. meeting some GWF who outdamage me 2 times (3k+) indicates that there is at least one class similar broken as mine, so do not have any bad feelings about that

I have to say that this class has the best fun factor even compared to my DC and GWF, I play him exclusively atm, when things get fixed I will respec or put him in a shelf, thats the way things go with this mmorpg, because cryptic s too slow (re.tarded) to get things in line
