The level 73 areas are too difficult for SW. They die too easily. Since lifesteal was changed, they have zero survivability. I have tried different combinations of powers, nothing works.
Don't worry, won't take to long before someone comes in with saying you should just get better equipment, enchantments and switch to Soulbinder with most of your feat points into Damnation for the Soul Puppet.

I'm about 2.2k gs and SB. If that can't cut it, they're too weak. I play all the 8 classes and they do just fine.
I know, i'm sitting at 1.7k il and i prefer my fresh Oathbound Paladin for a bit of fun in the evening over my SW now, but right now it feels like talking to a wall with some other people here...
thats not a secret?
other classes can´t solo high end areas as well i guess?
my warlock only claims to deal with one HE in WoD and one in Icewinddale, other HE is most of the time die in a row
Dwarfen valley I am not sure about, but Hunter, CW, TR will have same problems
GF, paladin, DC, GWF perform much better in this case, they can solo the small HE's much better bc they are tanking classes
some questions about your char:
1. do you have all boons from dread ring and sharandar?
2. do you think all trees of one class should perform equal in all aspects: damage , tankyness, support?
3. which compagnion do you use?
4. do you use artifacts mainhand/offhand?
5. did you try to run Kessel to get T1,5 until now?
6. did you try to get PVP gear "for free" during the event? it was 100 coins
in case you don´t I would recommend:
1. get your boons
2. take the tanky class tree until you geared up, than swich over to whatever you want, whats your problem doing so? spending 300 zen? thats 150k AD in game
3. take a healing or tanking compagnion,
4. go spineward rise for mainhand, tahts all you need, not all zones only the last one
5. try going kessel
6. do some pvp for equip
about weapon enchant: vorp is best by far soloing but expensive, plaguefire debuff only works on single target (does not stack from Dread Theft and many other encounter)
so cheapest enchant to go for solo areas, with best damageoutput....can´t say
invest some time doing your homework or stay in sharandar and dread ring for ever

1) have all campaign boons
2) SW is not a tank therefore they have no 'tankyness' spec
3) companions don't do much because once the mobs attack you, you will die in a few hits
4) yes
5) fully geared, all epics except for weapons and rings
6) already have 2 burning items
Like i said; I play all 8 alts and they have similar gear score, but only SW can't solo. I'm talking about regular mobs just for dailies not heroic encounters.
Yes, the class is too weak in comparison to the others
We've been saying that for a while. Since January when the mod 6 preview came up pretty much
I am the monk, martial skill transcends the battlefield
It is my my life style, my doctrine and my state of mind,
You fight well, but without focus and discipline, you will fall.
sry to say that, but I solo high level areas without any effort, my gs is 2,6k
only HE´s are not possible in most cases
my DC is faithfull atm, but beeing rightous it was a cake and far easier than with a warlock, having 40DR+Astral shield, my GWF is worse equipped and has only half of the boons and he can run through these maps with ease, going unstoppable, HE´s he can´t do as well that easy bc the mobs kill him through unstoppable...too much damage or to less DR
so I would say warlock can do high level areas (depending on the gear) but other classes perform far better
not sure about Hunter and TR going solo?
1. i can't get my boons solo anymore with my SW, it's that plain and simple now.
2. the paths should feel at least different, and they all should be valid to play in the campaign areas with ease.
3. healer companion, even when that one tends to invite adds to the fights, it's better then the other ones, that just die within seconds after starting a fight
4. i have the level 70 artifact mainhand and offhand on rare
5. i doubt that i will be welcome in any dungeon with my actual equipment
6. not going to play punching bag for others
rare gear should be fine for the campaign areas, but it's not.
life steal should keep me going, but it doesn't.
and it doesn't even matter if i use equipment with defense stats on it, the result is the same.
and most fresh SW won't even have rare equipment in every slot, when they step into the campaign areas... i mean, what are those supposed to do?
shell out money for ZEN, convert it to AD, and then buy any- and everything from the auction house to continue to play?
and just look at the il requirements in the queue, they are a joke, a very cruel one... if you try to enter with those, you will get vote kicked from the group within minutes.
in a thread about the changes to the mobs, the Lead Designer said some interesting things... like using disrupts.
i asked if he knows, that Harrowstorm is broken since May 15th, but haven't heard anything back from him this far, and i doubt i will receive any answer at all.
anyway, this just shows how far away the Devs are from the actual ingame content, floating around in their dream world, working on the next new module.
Lets put it this way. I have slightly over a 3k IS with burning gear, legendary artifacts/artifact equiptment and rank 9s, and I cannot solo Jawbone.
Pre mod 6 I could solo my way through most dungeons, now I cannot complete even the lowest level 70 content by myself. Our class has been broken by the game developers. The path doesn't seem to matter either, I've been all 3, Fury, Temptation and even Damnation for awhile. Bounced back and forth between Hellbringer and Soulbinder too.
They have just plain old gimped our class in PvE to the point that I've pretty much decided to donate my account to my guild and just move on completely.
funny story, today i saw a few mobs popping 60k health potions infight. in other words, they not only increased the hitpoints of the mobs, but also doubled their abilities to restore hitpoints too.
and we players are still sitting around on 10k health potions... good job.
but perhaps they can give us an Oathbound Paladin as companion, so that we might have a bit of fun again while just going through daily quests.
and btw. do also have a look at your overflow xp bar, and how much xp you get from those daily quests in DR or Sharandar.
Even Spinward is tough a for 2k IL SW to do solo. Also threat generation seems ridiculously high given how poor DPS is, I've found I'm almost always generating more threat than other players, and my guardian companion. Add on the fact that control spells are broken.
