2xRP...Help!!

So I am trying to upgrade a couple of artifacts this morning (from blue to purple). When I drop gems (Black Opals, Aquamarines, etc) into the "Refine" screen, I get the 2x bonus. When I try to insert refining stones, it actually reduces the value of the stones' refining points.

Example: I place 2 Resonance Stones worth 5,000 pts each. Should total 20,000 after the 2x bonus. However...when I drop them into place, I get the "2x Event Bonus" message popup, and it then shows a total refining value of 4,000 pts.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Am I doing something wrong? Had no issues on Thurs evening doing some heavy refining. Any help or guidance is appreciated.

    Just tried it again dropping 95 lesser res stones into a refine slot. It showed the "2x Event Bonus" message, and then gave a total refining value on the stack of 95,000 pts. It should be 5 times that amount.

    Does this need to be reported, or do I simply need to re-launch or something. Curious if anyone else is seeing this.

    Resonance stones are for artifact equipment. If you put them in basic artifact they are only worth 1/5th of their optimal value. No bug there.

    Well thanks for that...guess I'll be using those stones for my main hand. Of course I knew about the stones of Power, Union and Stability, but was not aware that res stones are just for Equipment. Now that I look at the description on the stones, it is glaringly obvious.

    I'll use my gems for the regular artifacts.

    Much appreciated...;you have saved me wasting much saved-up RP on a less than optimal usage!

    And thanks again, Daggon. Just got done with my refining now that I have a clue. Use Res Stones to get my main hand from blue to purple, and used all those useless stacks of rank four and five enchants to get three artifacts from blue to purple.

    I've also used enchants and saved-up Thaumaturge stones to boost every slotted enchant so I can take them from rank 7 to rank 8...as soon as my now-broke self can afford a few more GMOPs.

    My IL is better, my stats are better, and after a couple of PvP matches with the upgrades, I can already feel the difference. Significantly.

    Much appreciation again for preventing me from <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> up this great opportunity to gear up!

    Good to know, and of course you're welcome.
    I'm always a bit broke after those RP weekends. But the fact improvement is often noticeable is something I appreciate too.

    Double XP is a joke! They give it to us for a week (or so), but yet they TRIPLE the amount of experience needed to level up, and that isn't going away any time soon. Just curious Cryptic, are you TRYING to ruin this game?
