Mana Generation in Combat Turned Off? Off-ish?

Playing Like Minds on Master Difficulty, and the whole story has been fine until facing Khalila. after dying once when I went back in my mana wasn't generating, despite being in combat and attacking Khalila Fire Form. It would only go up approximately 1/5 of a mana with every attack I landed on her, with no passive generation. it also didn't increase whatsoever when I cast Dark Gamble.

    After that death I was able to fight against her normally (and win, for the sake of my own pride.).
