  • I've always been a fan of "normal" or "civilian" type heroes. As was mentioned previously, the cuffs could probably use a little "finesse", otherwise, it looks fine. I like the face as is....even for a "normal" toon, a stylized face -- you can even exaggerate some features -- is a good contrast to a "normal" outfit
  • Cool suggestions, thanks. The green is kinda working for me. I would not have thought about that.
  • Did you check and confirm it's available in your treasure box (last icon on right of character creator)? I've found unlocked pieces there that were not available through the regular interface. If it's not listed, you may have a tech error.
  • You could go minimalist -- a featureless metal humanoid a la T-1000 from Terminator 2: Glowing eyes make a nice contrast on this concept, and ooze tunneling gives you a malleable feel.
  • We're in a universe where we can spam a cloud of toxic gas and only have it affect the bad guys...who cares about "making sense"? But seriously, I approached this concept from the other side, a mage infused with technology: arcane version: costume file:…
  • Been a while, but I'm back with a new doodle: Hemlock -- gremlin-type dude with stealth and teleporting and all that jazz. Kinda like Nightcrawler, only way cooler. And his alternate outfits: As always, feedback is welcome, the good, the bad, and the
  • And they would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for that meddling Hexsing
  • Hmm....I think you're right about the brown version -- I thought it would look too cartoony, but it works:
  • Trying to create a treant, and this is what I came up with. Hard to get a good screen because of the color contrasts (or maybe it's just too dark?), but here are some anyway: Tried rock hair on Version 1 (it kinda looks like wood): Went for the hippy look on this one: Costume files are here if you wanna take a closer look:…
  • I'm sure this has already been done, but... A TOY ROBOT!!!!! Eat Lead Sucker! Had to go a different direction on the colored version -- trying to make them look plastic. As always, feedback is welcome; the good, the bad, and the
  • I usually spend 2-3 hours on a concept and then tweak 1-2x a week for a couple of weeks. All told...maybe 6-7 hours?
  • Here's another version of hulking deviant with sword hand. Axe is just too much. Uses robotic claw on the other for maximum bestial fury. Hood: Mask:
  • Well, it's been a while, but I'm back with another submission: Deviant. He started as a pulse rifle/laser sword cyborg, then he turned into a laser sword/particle burn cyborg, then he turned into a nemesis, and now he's just.....Deviant. It's a "lab experiment gone awry misunderstood hero" kinda thing. Three versions:…
  • I don't understand why they give players the ability to ban each other in the first place? It's just asking for trouble....of course fools are going to abuse it. And the fact that they won't discuss the changes suggests that they just have a workaround and not a solution, which really isn't too complicated. Let players…
  • You're right....looks better with a red base
  • I couldn't resist -- had to make one as a build challenge. Two tones only -- jet black and red with a little day glo for good measure. While it leaves much to be desired from an artistic standpoint, black/red are still functional if you take advantage of texturing and highlights. As Bluhman says, it's not necessary the…
  • OK, so, "for awhile" only turned out to be a few days. Started messing around with the Golden Age and ended up with a sci fi hero: Zap Neptune -- Defender of Mars. He's half Flash Gordon, half Buck Rogers, half Space Cadet, half Rocketeer and half a few pulp era comics I looked at for ideas. Here's the Jet Pack/Rocketeer…
  • I'm still waiting for a grey-grey....is hex code #333333 too much to ask?
  • I hate to sound whiny, but isn't this just a little bit whiny? I mean, who cares if their costumes are hideous....as long as they like em? To each his own and whatnot? And then there's that whole "post-it" thing, you wanna get all philomosophical and stuff. Meaning: the adhesive on post-its was a mistake...it was too weak…
  • Last submission for a while -- figure I should actually play the game and not just create characters  Besides, this design took me down the Golden Age road, and now I'm intrigued with creating Golden Age looks....will be doing some research before really going deep. But, I digress. Here we have Titan. Started off…
  • Last submission for today is an old skool sci fi concept: Dr. Mantesse "mon ta SAY"....it's pronounced "mon ta SAY" you dolt! Make one teensy eensy mistake in a gene-splicing experiment and everybody uses it as an excuse to abuse your name.....haven't you people ever broken an egg??? Sheesh! Regards, Dr. M (and the buggy…
  • Playing around in the costume creator for today's submissions. First we have Conduit. Uses laser sword for melee and elec for ranged damage (with elec offensive passive for added effectiveness). I tried to make the base suit look rubbery, but it's hard to tell in the dark colors . Oh well, still a fun concept.
  • Of course this game is still being worked on....we got a race course didn't we??? Game. Set. Match.
  • Before that it said, "down for maintenance, normal gameplay will not be affected" Guess they changed that REAL quick.
  • Finally made up my mind on my Blaxploitation theme hero: Jackson He sleeps with a pillow under his gun He thinks MMA is "cute" Nails say they're tough as him When he drinks tequila, the worm pukes He is: Jackson
  • Last two. Based off some promotional posters for Super Fly: Miami Vice before Miami Vice: Trenchcoat:
  • Version 3 is everyday wear with the super-tall turtle neck. Again, having trouble getting the cheesy look just right and open to suggestions: And with Trench Coat:
  • Version 2 is in powder blue leisure suit and full bling: Close up of the head. The closest thing I could get to a 70s wide collar is the pulp collar in the Heads with Collars model. Any other suggestions?
  • Back again with some Pseudo Originals. I call them "Pseudo Originals" because they're both my interpretations of some classic archetypes. And so, without any further ado....... M.I.A. -- This is your standard revenant/avenging angel concept, only I'm using a solder/munitions theme. Kinda like the ghosts the bomber pilot…
  • I think it's only "irony" if an immature response that spawns a flame war is unexpected or contrary to the norm. I mean, this IS a CO discussion board.....
  • You're ultimately limited by the quality of your machine; you can raise in-game graphics to the level of the creator, but will experience some SERIOUS performance issues if you don't have a rig that can handle them. If you do...set everything on max and enjoy. If you don't, you'll have to make some compromises (i.e. view…

  • Yes, it's true...you can have skin and metal tights. I'm obviously spending WAY too much time in the character creator! So maybe metal skin and cloth tights IS a big thing after all?
  • That's actually for another thread -- there are issues with that workaround too.
  • IDK...if you can have "Skin and Metal tights", then Shirley you can have "Metal Skin and Cloth tights"? "Trey Kings Straps" leg option is another example: the metal version incorporates a metal outfit over skin:
  • You used to get 100% KB with shotgun while enraged...now you only get it with concentration.
  • Back after a short hiatus with two more designs: Tarsis - this is the arcane version of the sith/jedi I posted earlier. No back story yet, but going for a science n sorcery thing. Wrecking Ball is just that....a short round bruiser. One build has him as a glass cannon, the other has him as a damage sponge that never goes…
  • Not sure about "best", but these are my faves: Hothead: RoboKong: Dr. J:
  • Wow. Just....wow. That is....wow (did I mention WOW???)
  • Unfortunately, the only "floaty brain" option is the rigid helmet one, which kinda sorta forces you into a "brain in a power-armor" thing. The only other option is the brain dome in hats/helmets so you're pretty limited in your options. :frown:
  • Yeah...that's just the standard head model (with "mohawk wild"). It would be better if the hair was metallic too; fairly seamless with fire flight/fire passive, but pretty obvious otherwise. You can see the bone/leather version here is a much smoother transition (I just like the shiny head!):
  • I'd also like to see shotgun kb tied to enrage again instead of concentration....it just makes sense that the ranged weapon a might build would use is a big clumsy scatter gun. Just my $.02 of course.
  • Speaking of Elemental Heroes.......here is Hot Head. No backstory yet, just having fun with the character creator. And Chill V2 -- urban jersey isn't the best because you can still kinda sorta see the numbers on it, but it's the only decent oversized top (not feeling the polo shirt). Oh well....
  • To cape or not is an independent design choice based on each concept for me. For example, it just doesn't make sense on some heroes, like RoboKong: Same with Meltdown (pestilence build). Cape doesn't fit the concept: Quorok, on the other hand, didn't look right without a cape: Same with this clone of Marvin the Martian --…
  • It would be kinda pathetic for somebody to complain about an idea for a villain, but I suppose I wouldn't put it past somebody.... That said, great work on this build challenge. You've got quite a diverse range of concepts and designs here.
  • Back after a short hiatus with a few more originals: Chill Didn't have any elemental heroes....do now. Standard cold powerset theme build. I-borg Don't know why I like robots/cyborgs so much, but I just do. Here's the latest incarnation; slated for laser/sword particle damage if I ever get the time to play him. Lynk What I…
  • Revenge of the Clones! Thundarr, The Barbarian was, like the COOLEST cartoon out when I was a kid. Then I realized how bad it really is/was while watching on Boomerang. Still, it will always have a place in my heart. Without further ado, I present: Ariel, Thundarr and Ookla....together again! As always, feedback is…
  • Ditto on the Cali report
  • Back after a little break of actually playing the game for once with some more Sith-like builds. Tarsis is an attempt at armored robes -- I suppose that's a contradiction, but, whatever. Samurai belt and leg armor is ideal for this build, but not very compatible with the chest/arm pieces I'm using....too bad. :frown: Qurok…
  • Long Glove: Armor Plated is a good choice. It basically has power gems on the cuff and back of hand. Glow effect on them looks good in leather or metal.
  • Why is this not stickied??? (ok, so maybe it's less than a day old, but that's not important right now)
