  • Quasimojo1, thank you for providing some viable strategies and I am glad your luck in PUGs has been greater than mine. I played twelve of the Malvan alerts. I enjoyed them enough to grind out twelve of them, and in general I hate repetition. (I can't run more than a few regular Alerts before I want to scratch my eyes out).…
  • I'd like to add my experience. Over all, the first seven rounds were fun and entertaining. It was nice to have something new to run for a change, even if the content was "light". I've done this event twelve times (twice with all six of my 40s), each time with a random pick-up group. Not one single time did any of us get…
  • I'm still a new player but i can help you a little. Those are level locked, I believe level 15? The selections to go to those zones will automatically appear when you are the appropriate level and near the super jet.
  • Thanks for the tips and pointers! And thanks for the name of the growth device, that will really help. Now I have to decide if growing super-large is worth a retcon and making Intelligence a Super Stat (in order to get recharge down) so that powers will stack for combat growth.
  • Thanks ashensnow and andromeda9899 ... I'm going to try a Lightning Reflexes character with Dexterity as my Primary Superstat and Constitution/Intelligence as my Secondary ones. I'll use gear to up my melee damage (Just to get a 70 Strength) I'll stick with Unarmed Martial arts to augment LR and maybe toss in some…
  • Hahaha ... nice! Pion01 and ayonachan, and everyone else, thanks for the numbers and the more detailed explanations. Lightning Reflexes doesn't seem as bad now that I understand it a bit more. It's still a bit disheartening to me because, to achieve really good numbers, it seems to require getting high-level gear and/or…
  • Aha! So Lightning Reflex's Avoidance -damage numbers are exactly what it says it is ... and 100% Dodge can be attained. Okay, that's definitely a benefit then ... Though that makes the power a very active one in order to keep up the %Dodge chance then. Hmm. Different play style, for certain. Something to think about I…
  • Thanks again for the help. But I still don't understand how its mitigation can meet or exceed Invuln or Defiance. It has a "capped" 40-60% chance to dodge an attack to get 80% avoidance (which is only 40% of the damage removed) is better or equal to the other sets, which offer 100% of their protection all of the time.…
  • Thank you, it's something. There MUST be some good reason for taking Lightning Reflexes ... otherwise why have a seemingly redundant and seemingly inferior passive defense power like this?
  • Wow, thanks for that too. I want to "tidy up" my build but I'm trying not to lose what made my hero fun to level up. I guess I'm not looking for SUPER min-max, just some good ideas to help with survival against some of the big-guys and unexpected swarms. Force Blast is very fun, and I've found it really works well with the…
  • Thanks, I'll look at all the advice and links offered. One thing I'm really starting to love about this game is the amount of opportunity they give you to "test" things. The Powerhouse is a great idea. I'm still learning my Alerts too. A recent Alert I ran was an "XP Smash" Alert, saving the train. I forget who the enemy…
  • Interesting idea taking multiple Active Defenses/Offensives. I assumed using one locked out any others until the recharge was complete ... but now I read that there's a 30 second lock out which lets you use another one while the first is on a 90 second recharge. So you can actually leverage three Active Offs/Defs? Is that…
  • Thanks for the advice, Keikomyst. I'll spend a bit of time in the Powerhouse trying out Concentration. Strength is my current Superstat, my plan was to retcon (or re-train, I'm not clear on the difference) into Constitution and pick a hardier Defense that works well with it. I know the Powerhouse has the "guns" that you…
  • Just be prepared for that final encounter! It's delightfully surprising yet quite a challenge.
  • I assume you mean Ritual of Primal Summoning, and not ritual of Radiant Summoning. This looks like a really neat build, I think I'm going to try it out for Group Night! Thanks! Also, what Talents do you Recommend? Feral or Savage to begin with, I assume? Edit: OOPS ... I found this thread on an internet search, just…
  • I'm new, but I soloed this mission arc and will offer you my experiences. I used the temp travel power that the boss from the previous mission dropped for me ... the one that turns you into a pile of black goo and you can travel "invisible" to the enemy. Bypass the trouble-makers with it and go to the end of the map, click…
