Honestly, the whitelist feature should be turned on by default. One of my happiest moments in CO so far was when I discovered the whitelist feature. It's the first line of defense against all those annoying kids who repeatedly spam their duel challenges at everyone they see.
Ren Cen needs a "kiddie-pool" instance. That way the kids can play however they want - dueling, AoEing the furniture, whatever - without annoying the grown ups. Perfect solution.
Completely agree with the OP. Having come here from CoH myself - and not having any other superhero MMO alternative - I could see myself sticking with CO. But only if Cryptic allocates the proper resources to CO, to keep bugs to an absolute minimum while rolling out new content. I'm really struggling to decide whether or…
Pretty sure the cause of the problem is the same reason the bug hasn't been fixed in the last month: It seems there aren't enough devs allocated to Champions to keep the game running smoothly.
I'm not really an RPer, but I'd still like to see more emotes. Especially "idle" emotes. I'm sure this is something a LOT of people, across multiple playstyles, would like.
Right now I'd be happy if I could just get Arms Skill gains from investigating weapons crates. :frown: I suspect that Cryptic doesn't have very good QA protocols. I mean, their own QA people should work off a standard list of actions when testing a new build. Things they do every single time. That's how QA departments are…
Have no idea if this helps, but I noticed this problem once when trying to troubleshoot an unrelated issue. It was caused by running the game in Vista compatibility mode, from Win7-64. As soon as I disabled compatibility mode, the hitching stopped. Like I said, I don't know if this helps you, but at least it shows that the…
Yeah, having also come from CoH, I have to agree 110% with the OP. It really is shocking the number of MAJOR bugs in CO. By "major" I mean bugs that make it nearly or totally impossible to complete adventure packs, or gain Arms Skill, or beat certain bosses, etc. Bugs that stop players' progress should be fixed on a weekly…
CoH had a pretty awesome Rewards system. Subscribers get a token every month as part of their sub, which can be used to select vet rewards from a number of tiers (higher tiers unlock as you spend tokens). However, everyone - subscribed or not - gets a token for every $15 they spend on the Market. Basically, players get…
Had the same problem with both Resistance and Whiteout. The series missions sometimes just won't update after completing. Even once you finish the entire series successfully, you can't turn it in afterwards because of this bug. Highly frustrating!
Yeah, I *am* one of those CoH players, and the amount of bugs in CO compared to CoH is...just...absolutely shocking. This is the 2nd Comic Series arc I've tried, and the 2nd I've had to abandon due to bugs (the first being Resistance). I'm struggling to decide if I'm going to keep subbing, because...geez...why should I pay…
PWE has confirmed that their provider has been having issues in the Southwest, that have been preventing anyone in this part of the country from connecting reliably to CO & STO for the last week (especially TWC customers). So it very well might not be a problem on his end.
I've also made a post over in the PW Tech "support" forums regarding this: http://techsupport.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=4181 Don't just post here. Post anywhere on Perfect World that seems appropriate. Let them know we aren't happy about these connectivity problems, and if they can't pressure Cogent into providing…
*deleted* Edit: Posted a new thread with what info I've found concerning connection issues. This thread is more about conjecture than fact, so I felt a new one was warranted. Check it out. Good luck.
I don't know how much good your efforts will do, but there's no sense in waiting until CoH closes in November. Nearly all of the Paragon folks are looking for new jobs now. They have bills to pay, and many have kids to feed, so no one has the luxury of time. If you really think you can help, don't wait for another 2…
Zoning seems to make it worse, I've noticed. I was playing in City Center with no problems - game was running great - for quite awhile, but the MOMENT I zoned into City Hall and back out again, I got hit with constant "server not responding" until CO kicked me back to the login screen. I've seen the same thing happen…
I'll have to get STO patched up and try that out, then. If the problem is actually on MY end (or a hop somewhere in between) then that would absolutely prevent me from getting a decent connection to *either* game. Otherwise, if one is reachable and the other isn't, then that's irrefutable proof that Cryptic needs to fix…
Does anyone know if the CO and the STO servers are housed in the same location? If so, and if STO remains playable even when CO is totally unplayable, then that means the problem lies with the Champions servers (or something on Cryptic's end).
So many people are complaining about server performance ingame. Seriously, I don't care if the devs publicly acknowledge that their netcode/servers/hamsters suck...I just want them to fix the problem. I just started playing, and was planning on sticking around, but I'm cancelling my sub and going back to Silver. I'll…
This. Absolutely. Even after 4 years, I still get a thrill from beating up on Council fascists, Crey agents, 5th Column supersoldiers...the list goes on. None of the villain groups in CO have the sense of backstory that you'll find in CoH, partly because the mission arcs in the latter are written in a way that grab you and…
I recently started playing the game, and this issue is making CO unplayable for me. I *just* subbed to the game and then suddenly this "server not responding" issue pops up. Figures. And no, it isn't my connection. After polling io.com and others for an hour with ZERO packet loss and consistently low latency, I can say…
