Well, I am just stating it to you, they've not always been on the level with us before. While Taco does talk a lot and he tries to explain things, and keep relations going, it can still very much be a the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. And he obviously can't be negative about the company, if he wants to keep his job.
Just to be clear, are you saying he doesn't know what he's talking about? Or that he is intentionally misleading us? Just clearly state what you are implying. Why beat around the bush?
OK, I tried to give a general response, but I seem to have interrupted something, so...
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning, but when your story ends / Gonna last with you longer than your friends
I don't think "tech" is the problem. Champs shares the same engine as STO and NW(I know, different versions, etc), but the point is that this engine supports the foundry...or else it couldn't be in STO and NW.
Now, there is a difference between something being *possible*, and something being hard to do. I just did a search and couldn't actually find any dev quotes about the foundry in Champs, but as I recall the issue is that it would take a huge amount of time to tag all of the assets in this game for use in the foundry, and since this game has a pretty small team, they can't devote that time to that project when there is no direct monetary correlation.
But if someone has an actual quote to the contrary, I'd love to read it so I can have a better understanding.
A Ferarri Testarossa uses a gasoline-powered internal-combustion engine.
A Ford Fiesta uses a gasoline-powered internal-combustion engine.
But unless you get into the Fiesta and replace its engine, drivetrain, suspension, and quite a lot of the other hardware, it'll never even have half the performance of the Testarossa. On the other hand, it gets wayyyy better gas mileage...

You are talking about 2 *different* engines, made by 2 *different* companies.
We have been talking about variations of the *same* engine, made by the *same* company.
That being the case, if your goal was to make a comparison that had anything to do with that we were talking about, you are way off. But if you were trying to make a comparison that had virtually nothing to do with what we were talking about, you did pretty good =P
Seriously though, no one is claiming that all of Cryptic's games have the exact same versions of the engine. No one said that. If anyone is replying as if that was said, that is a strawman argument. No one said that.
What I *did* say was that the reason the foundry isn't in Champs is *not* because it isn't technically possible with the engine, but because it would take a lot of work that they can't devote the resources to.

Look old friend I may not play anymore but I do peek around a bit. What are you doing? There won't be anymore more money. Not for champs. Let it go. And as for honesty, I can't think of a company that has a worse history than Cryptic when it comes to honesty. Praising the rotating parade of community reps also does not help. We can tell tell all the old devs we love them till we are blue in the face. It will not change things. There will, again, be no money or help coming. Why is is this so hard to understand? The game will remain basically as is which is static. Fine if you haven't done it all to death. For everyone there is a finish line. This is getting more painful than watching Titan Network forum updates. Understand: development wise;

No big deal. Game lasted awhile and was great fun. But you know this is it. No kickstarter. We are an established product and therefore ineligible. Again, there will be no funding. Didn't anyone learn anything from Cryptic North? Good gravy.

Because I refuse to give up and be complacent anymore about this. *shrugs* So what am I doing, going down swinging, and will continue to do that until I can't anymore.
Some people just want to yell at the wind. If it stops blowing, they'll claim credit. If it starts blowing again, they'll yell at it with renewed vigor convinced that they can make it stop again. It's probably best to leave them be because the wind might pick up and you don't want to be there if it topples them, because they might fall on you - if that happens, they're likely to think you were responsible for the wind blowing in the first place and now they'll just follow you around yelling at you.
