I think I'm gonna vomit. Why are they changing our end game?
A large part of it is that it gives us new shineys that we can set up for you guys, but another part of it is that it's going to majorly help long-term stability. The current vBulletin forums are extreme spaghetti code, and migrating to a clean forum setup is going to be much easier to work with.
What's gonna happen with our custom Forum titles?? Are they gonna follow us, or we're going to lose that?
My understanding is that they won't follow, unfortunately. I'm not certain whether we'll be able to manually set titles on the new framework -- I haven't gotten to poke around in Vanilla's innards just yet.

Poke, man... POKE!! For crying out loud!! Go poke that!! We want our titles!!

Forums is ironically end game for some players. I was joking about the forum relocation.

What kind of new shiny stuffs?
Will all of the posts floating about currently end up being unable to be edited due to archiving?
Will we get new titles?
I'd like to know all the changes that will be happening as a result of the move.
All hands, brace for impact! Damage-control teams on standby!
On the plus side, according to the blog post we'll be able to have .gifs for avatars...
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
My forum title was pretty much bought. This is a little frustrating since this is pretty much all I got from donating to the Extra-Life. Don't have anything to show for it... Even though I was promised signed art, action-figure, and a forum title.

Same situation and viewpoint. The lack of the signed art has been increasingly annoying as that doesn't require game development resources, just somebody to do the job that was promised. I really don't understand how difficult it is to generate a few prints and sign them considering the relatively small number of people likely slated to get one.
If the forum title is indeed lost, I would like to request consideration be made to provide it as an available in game title to those that loose it.
Not too worried about it myself as I don't use the Vanguard title, but wasn't it advertised as included with of the purchase of an LTS ?
Forum titles are also one of the advertised perks of the various larger Neverwinter bundles. I suspect people who dropped as much as $200 on those packs will express some level of displeasure if they are lost.
Hey,hey what the fudge man? This isn't just a matter of conveniance or something....these forums are like the place of birth of what is today's Champions Online's current community. This is our home, you can't just come and kick us out.The people on these forums share some really nice relations and I'm pretty sure 90% don't give a donger about your other games.Back off PWI,stop messing up everything you touch for once!!
The previous forum migration was met with valid backlash due to shutting down of the old Cryptic accounts and being forced to create and use PWE ones. The problem for a good number of forumers was that if someone with an existing PWE account used the same forum name as theirs, they couldn't use it.
This time around I don't really see anything to warrant doom and gloom. Overall the new forums look to be an improvement. I guess the different color scheme and layout taking time to get used to would be the one minor annoyance. I mean people were flipping out when the current forum's color scheme was changed to grey and black but people got over it in a matter of days.
Oh goodie, vanilla forums. Those things that we see over at Marvel and ESO being used.
Well guess I will say it since I have experience with them, at the very least do not turn on the disagree, awesome, agree, informative and LOL buttons. I don't think we need to give the trolls anymore reason to troll on the forums.

I strongly agree with this. We don't need this kind of feedback. It means nothing and only causes problems.

A website is playing 52-Pickup with it's structure and layout, so it's time for a friendly reminder:
Holding Shift as you refresh the page (either the toolbar button or the Ctrl/Cmd-R keyboard shortcut) ignores your local cache and re-gets everything from the server. That should flush out any old javascripts and stylesheets that might be corrupting the page.
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning, but when your story ends / Gonna last with you longer than your friends
So, individual identity per forum gets flushed down the toilet, then. The avatar and .sig I have here on the CO forum has absolutely no bearing with regards to my identity over on the STO forums. My characters are different, my playstyle is different, I may as well be a different person as far as anyone reading is concerned.
At this point, I really wonder if it would be that hard to resurrect the code used by 2002 era gaming forums, like Squaresoft used before the Square-Enix merger. It seemed to work so much better, and had to have been run on less capable hardware.

Maybe I'm too picky, but I expect basic stuff, like clicking links, to work right the first time. Just refreshing magically logs me in. Even though I am logged in and the site knows I'm logged in. Dumping my cache doesn't matter. Refreshing every page all the time is irritating.
I've seen websites where every game is clustered onto the same board. They are absolutely terrible, not only do you have trolls from other games but they are dysfunctional and generally have a horrible layout.
Will these new forums at least use code from this century?

What, thirty-year-old code from the days of BBSes and 300-baud acoustic modems isn't good enough for you, Mister Fancy-Pants?

So you're moving to a new system before you've had a chance to really see what's under the hood? Something isn't right there....
Dear Devs: I enjoyed the Legacy of Romulus expansion much more than the Delta Rising expansion. .
I take this quote from a review that I agree with.
"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."
I highly doubt the move is something that TT actually had a say in, but I could be wrong.
I wasn't involved in the decision-making process, but that doesn't mean I couldn't influence it if I really wanted to/felt the need to. As it stands, other people are taking point on it, so I'm not terribly hands-on with this.
