just wondered if other than TrailTurtles congratulations here if there is going to be an actual announcement of the results on ARC and FB. Yes we can see the results but it feels a bit of an anti-climax to leave the "voting open" posts here and on FB hanging as the last word on the contest.

Regardless to who wins I think that there should be serious additions for African American hairstyles. The current ones really look pretty ridiculous, they're either too wild, have ridiculous designs. The Urban buzzcut size was PERFECT, but you guys (game developers) really screwed up by altering the shape up and putting in those foolish designs. Really? You don't think black people would like playing with a regular looking design? A lot people just get a common shape up and that's it~ the basic, generic African American look you guys don't have... Again, I suggest that you guys (game developers) re-do buzz cut look and make a version where there are no "designs" in the hair

Since the Holo Armor won, i'd guess the voting is over.
And since the purpose of this voting was to choose a set that would be made in the game, i'd guess they are starting to make the costume.
But these are, ofcourse just guesses.

Story and character development, not so much.

As much as I don't like modern anime, I must point it is not always the case.

Masamune Shirow is probably the next best cyberpunk writer after William Gibson. If not comparable with him.

Not only he does a lot of solid research for his stories and mechanical designs, he's also probably the only cyberpunk writer doing the thing as Gibson envisioned - it's not about decorations like fancy tech and implants, but about social and political issues.

Or rather he did, too bad he no longer does new stories.

They're probably going to wait until after tomorrow's update to make the "official" announcement.

does say in news and opening post that announcement would be made on 28th.

Trailturtle's congratz in the thread while answering another question while nice; would hardly count as an announcement (given at all stages posts have been made on FB and ARC as well as seperate forum post)

    Whataaaa?

After over 4 years we'd get a full samurai armor? Ok, we don't need full armor. We got the helmet...
And no, the "Epic" armor doesn't count....

Better than present NO samurai armor at all.

Our Shining Knight set is working plate armor.
Our Dark Knight set is the Black Paladin's armor from CU sourcebook.
Our Spartan set is working Greek armor.

Our "Epic" Samurai set is only a helmet paired with some generic fantasy parts with ridculously oversized shoulder blades.
Doesn't even look like something from anime.

Just because you don't like it it doesn't mean that there are no players who want to make samurai toons who don't look ********.

They are all good but I am not fond of the robot one cause it is related to the vehicles. I'm sick of vehicles and should stray away from them

Note that all concepts were put under public voting, so it's not like Cryptic was forcing anything on the players.
And it came as second in voting, so there are enough players who do not share your private opinion. Or they just need more robot parts. That's also a possibility.

We've got enough parts to make a decent enough samurai.

    I might take this challenge.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.

    Unlikely.

Only if you set standards for "decent enough" low.

Whatever can be made in costume creator will end looking not close enough, when compared to the Spartan or Shining Knight sets, as both are as close to the original article as it's possible given CO graphic style and limitations.

The most iconic things we don't have are very flat, vertical lamellar pauldrons and similar waist tassets.
Also our back banners are a) dual and b) not strictly vertical.

And that's without going into cuirass and textures, both Spartan and Shining Knight have also appropriate choices for textures with right details.

We need armor that functions like armor (not statwise), most of the pieces we have stop above or below joints. Armor that doesn't protect the joints isn't very useful in a real fight.

How? It's just a costume set.

And there isn't a lead anymore. The voting was over long ago.

It's just a costume set. It merely polishes the tricks used by players for a some time.

And yes, voting was closed long time ago.

Well the costumed hero turns into the vehicle. Or so I thought...

I think I've been watching too much Transformers lately. And by 'lately' I mean my entire life. T_T

Sorry, I missed that. I misread the deadline as May, not April. >.>
